The purpose of this study is to verify the reliability and validity of Korean translation of transfer assessment instrument (TAI-K), an evaluation tool that evaluates the transfer abil ity of patients with spinal cord injury. The study subjects were 30 patients with spinal cord injury. The research instrument used was the TAI-K translated into Korean. The reli ability analysis of the evaluation results used the intraclass correlation coefficient, and the validity analysis analyzed content validity and concurrent validity with KSCIMⅢ. The in trarater reliability interclass correlation coefficient (ICC) of TAI-K was 0.795 (standard er ror of measurement, SEM=0.459, minimal detectable change, MDC=1.272). The inter-rater reliability ICC of TAI-K was 0.959 (SEM=0.440, MDC=2.120). The test-retest reliability ICC of TAI-K was 0.790 (SEM=0.415, MDC=1.152). The Cronbach's alpha value of TAI-K was 0.864-0.962, showing high internal consistency. As a result of verifying the content validity of TAI-K, content validity index scale (CVI-S) was analyzed as 0.91, confirming that it is an evaluation tool that meets the purpose of evaluation. The concurrent validity of TAI-K, KSCIMⅢ, and KSCIMⅢ item 12 (moving to sit) was not found to be significant. TAI-K is considered to be very reliable as an evaluation tool. The fact that the results showed a negative correlation in the concurrent validity analysis is presumed to be related to the characteristics of the study subjects. It was concluded that TAI-K can be used as an ef fective assessment tool to evaluate a patient's ability to transfer, and that further studies and studies based on patient groups are needed in the future.

Studies on seasonal prevalence and population denSity of mosquito females were biweekly performed at the dumping yards of dredged soil in Busan New Port using 37 Nozawa type black light traps from April 2007 through August 2008. Also, mosquito females were collected in a cowshed near the dumping yards using an aspirator from May 2006 through September 2008. ln a cowshed, a total of 14 Species in 6 genera were collected. The most common mosquito species collected were Anopheles Hyrcanus group (59.4%) and Culex tritaeniorhynchus Giles (37.8%). ln a cowshed, An sinensis sensu lato were collected showing the highest population (62.7%) from 2007 through 2008. Cx. tritaeniorhymchus were collected showing (37.8%) similar to that of 2006. In the dumping yards, a total of 10 species in 4 genera were collected. The most common species in the sites was Cx. tritaeniorhynchus with an average of 7.3 in Otober 2007, followed by Anopheles Hyrcanus group, Cx. plplens CoquilLett, Lutzia halifaxii Theobald. Anopheles Hyrcanus group from the dumping yards and a cowshed were identified to 5 Species. Anopheles sinensis sensu stricto was most abundant species (96.0%) of total population, followed by An. sineroides (3.0%) and An. pulluκ An. lesteri and An. belenrae (below 1.0% in each)

Objective: Atypical and malignant meningiomas (AM, MM) are known to be rare and show aggressive behavior. Limit-ed data are available concerning the clinical features, and role of radiosurgery with non-benign meningiomas. The objec-tive of this study is to assess the local control rate, the risk of complications, and the variables that predict outcome in non-benign meningioma patients treated with radiosurgery with Novalis system. Methods: Between 2000 and 2009, 20 lesions of 10 patients were treated with radiosurgery using Novalis system for non-benign meningiomas (9cases AM, 1case MM) at our institution. FSRT were used in eloquent area and large size, pa-ranasal sinus, in close proximity to the optic nerve, prior irradiated sites. The changes of tumor size, volume , and KPS after RS were examined retrospectively during mean follow up period of 5 years. Mean target volume was 30,280.37 mm3. Mean total dose was 21.72 Gy in SRS and 39.88 Gy with 2.27 Gy per fraction in FSRS. Results: During follow-up period, all patients were survived and complications associated with RS were not observed. Mean target volume was 30,280.37 mm3. Overall local tumor control rate was 95%. 11 lesions were decresed in size. 8 lesions were no change, 1 lesion was increased. Conclusions: These data demonstrate that radiosurgery using Novlais system is an effective and safe treatment modality for non-benign meningiomas with a minimal risk. We think that follow-up for longer periods is needed to assess exact ef-fectiveness of RS for non-benign meningiomas.

Hemorrhage remote from the surgical site after transsphenoidal approach is uncommon. We report a rare case of epidural hematoma occurrence following pituitary tumor surgery via transsphenoidal approach. During the operation, the arachnoid membrane seemed not to be disturbed but clear fluid like cerebrospinal fluid(CSF) was suspected to be being leaked. Lumbar drain was inserted immediately after surgery. Four hours after surgery, the patient’s consciousness fell to drowsiness and exhibited right hemiparesis. Brain CT scan revealed large amount of hematoma in the epidural space of left parietal area. Emergency craniotomy was performed and hematoma was removed. Over-drainage of CSF through the lumbar drain seems to be major cause for this postoperative complication.
