Purpose: With the advances in diagnostic and interventional radiology, emergency physicians have been frequently confronted with radiocontrast media (RCM)-induced anaphylaxis. However, few studies have addresses RCMinduced anaphylaxis in Korea. The aim of this study was to describe the clinical features and treatment patterns of RCM-induced anaphylaxis patients who visited an emergency department (ED) in a tertiary referral hospital. Methods: All patients who visited the ED and were diagnosed with “anaphylaxis” during a 3-year period were evaluated and cases of RCM-induced anaphylaxis were selected based on medical records. Results: Twenty patients with RCM-induced anaphylaxis were retrospectively analyzed. Nine patients (45.0%) were male and the mean age was 59.5±14.9 years. Eighteen patients were referred following computed tomography (CT) examination and 2 patients from home. The most common manifestations were systolic blood pressure (SBP) < 90 mmHg (75.0%), followed by dizziness (55.0%), syncope (40.0%), angioedema (35.0%), and dyspnea (35.0%). Epinephrine was administered in 16 patients (80.0%), corticosteroids in 18 (90.0%), and antihistamine in 18 (90.0%). Only 4 patients (22.2%) were managed by epinephrine in the CT room. Seventeen patients were discharged directly from the ED after some observation period (7.3±5.0 hours) and 3 were admitted to the ICU. Corticosteroids were prescribed at discharge only in 9 patients (45.0%). Conclusion: The clinical features of RCM-induced anaphylaxis were similar to those of other causative agents. The underuse of epinephrine in the CT room and the under-prescription of corticosteroids at discharge indicate a need for anaphylaxis management education and treatment plan.

PURPOSE This study was conducted to understand the process of identity formation and its meaning for athletes in non-popular sports, focusing on soft tennis athletes. METHOD This study used the qualitative research methodology of cultural descriptive research. In-depth interviews were conducted with a total of eight participants and participant observation was also conducted. RESULT The results of this study are as follows. First, in the identity preparation stage, soft tennis players' identities were mainly shaped by their socialization agents. Second, in the identity acquisition stage, soft tennis players became aware of themselves as student-athletes and perceived that soft tennis has a horizontal team culture compared to popular sports. Third, in the identity negotiation stage, they clearly recognized that they were participating in an unpopular sport, which led them to think about their career path. Fourth, in the identity maintenance stage, the participants set their own goals for the future, and they are taking control of their own career paths. CONCLUSION The identity of athletes in unpopular sports was mainly formed in connection with their career paths. Therefore, it is necessary to prioritize the issue of career paths of athletes in unpopular sports in order to foster unpopular sports and expand their base in the future.

The purpose of this study is to examine the possibility of youth horse-riding education to expand the horse-riding participants and to come up with a policy direction and task to activate youth horse-riding. horse-riding can have many positive effects on youth. Currently many schools offer horse-riding program to the student for one of the effective educational tools. Teeball succeeded in activating the sport through an educational campaign on youth. Teeball actively conducted the program around the school(especially PE classes), and tried to expand its participants through this process. In this context, it is important to activate the youth horse-riding education as schools programs. And It is required to expand the participants of youth horseback riding, change the recognition about horseback riding,, and establish an horseback riding, education system. Specifically, the following are the tasks to promote youth horse-riding education : First, It needs to create new demand by expanding education program and events for experiencing horse-riding. Secondly, a paradigm shift from high-end sports to life sports should be made. Third, the youth horse-riding education system should be established through standardization and specialization.
국민안전문화 정착을 위한 스포츠학문의 과제:수상레저스포츠를 중심으로

Purpose: The purpose of This study attempts to (1)to examine the tasks and improvements of water-leisure sports safety (2) and to find a way to promote the role of sports-science for the sports-safety. Methods: This research was mainly conducted by literature review and in-depth interview. Conclusion: The findings about the tasks and improvements of water-leisure sports safety are as below. (1) the structure of water-leisure sports safety management system should be unified (2) Safety standards for water-leisure sports facility managers and participants should be strengthened. (3) The safety standards for the new form of water-leisure facilities have to be established. And the findings about roles of sports-science for the sports-safety are as below. (1) Sports scientist should approach newly about a academic concept of sports-safety. (2) For strengthening the safety guideline of water-leisure sports, the usability of sports science should be enhanced. (3) Academic discussions and research about the activation and regulation of water-leisure sports should be activated. 연구목적: 수상레저스포츠에서 안전의 중요성에 대해 이해하고, 수상레저스포츠 안전증진의 과제와 개선방향을 탐색해본다. 그리고 이를 토대로 수상레저스포츠 안전을 증진시키기 위한 스포츠학문의 과제와 역할을 모색한다. 연구방법: 수상레저스포츠 안전에 대한 이해를 도모하기 위해 주로 문헌연구 방법을 활용하였으며, 수상레저스포츠 안전증진의 과제와 개선방향 그리고 수상레저스포츠 안전을 위한 스포츠학문의 역할을 모색하기 위해 관련 분야 연구자 및 현장전문가를 대상으로 심층면담을 실시하였다. 결론: 본 연구를 통해 수상레저스포츠 안전증진의 과제와 개선방향은 다음과 같이 도출되었다. 첫째, 수상레저스포츠 안전관리의 체계를 일원화 시켜야 한다. 둘째, 수상레저스포츠 사업자 및 참여자에 대한 안전기준을 개선 보완해야 한다. 셋째, 신종수상레저기구에 대한 안전 기준을 마련해야 한다. 또한, 수상레저스포츠 안전을 위한 스포츠학문의 과제는 다음과 같이 정리할 수 있다. 첫째, 수상레저스포츠 안전이 개념에 대한 심도 있는 학문적 접근이 필요하다. 둘째, 수상레저스포츠 안전 기준 마련을 위한 스포츠 과학의 활용성을 제고해야 한다. 셋째, 수상레저스포츠 활성화 및 규제에 대한 학문적 논의가 활성화 되어야 한다.

The purpose of this study is to explore the process and meanings of injury experiences among college soccer players. A growing attention has been paid to bringing awareness to the current problems of college athletic injury, thereby to seeking directions of possible improvements. The research questions selected were; what is the process of sport injury experiences in college soccer players? And, how do college soccer players understand their injury experiences? The study was conducted between June to September 2011, employing qualitative research methods. The typical case selection was utilized and 10 college soccer players from a college located in Seoul were elected as study participants. Data collection was through in-depth interviews. Findings are as follows; First, players are prone to hide their injury. Players took it for granted that injuries to a soccer player are inevitable. Furthermore hiding was occurring to sustain a injury-free and reliable player image among peers and coaches. Second, players consider injuries to be a personal problem. It was found that a player is at fault for their injury and therefore is responsible for rehabilitation. This was also due to the lack of medical support availability on site. Third, injured players undergo identity crisis. This takes place because of diminished roles, alienation and fear from possible career change. 본 연구는 대학축구선수들의 부상경험이 가지고 있는 의미를 파악하여 부상과 관련된 운동부문화의 개선점 및 방향을 제시하는데 그 목적이 있다. 전형적 사례 선택(typical case selection)방법을 사용하여 서울소재 S대학교의 축구팀 소속 선수 중 부상경험이 2회 이상이고 운동경력이 6년 이상인 선수를 연구참여자로 선정하였다. 연구참여자를 대상으로 심층면담을 진행했으며 수집된 음성자료는 전사하여 연구 자료로 사용하였다. 전사한 자료는 주제별로 부호화하여 연구결과에 활용하였으며 자료의 진실성 검증을 위해 연구참여자 검토, 전문가 및 동료 간 협의 등을 진행하였다. 연구를 통해 다음과 같은 연구결과를 도출하였다. 첫째, 대학축구선수들은 자신의 부상을 감추려 하고 있었다. 선수들은 부상을 당연시하는 조직문화로 인해 부상을 당연한 것으로 이해하고 있었으며 팀 내 구성원으로서 헌신하기 위해 부상을 당했음에도 경기 및 훈련에 참여하였다. 또한 상급학교진학 등의 진로문제로 인해 다소 무리가 있음에도 불구하고 부상을 감추고 경기에 참여하고 있었다. 둘째, 대학축구선수들은 부상을 개인적 문제로 경험하고 있었다. 부상을 회복하는 과정 및 치료과정은 주로 선수 개개인에 의해 개별적으로 이루어지고 있었으며 부상은 선수의 책임이라는 인식이 지배적이었다. 이는 팀을 관리해야 하는 지도자에 대한 불신과 전문적 재활 지원체계 미흡, 재활주체와 팀 관리 주체간의 상호협력이 미흡하기 때문인 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 대학축구선수들은 부상 중 ‘정체성 위기’를 경험하고 있었다. 부상을 당한 이후 선수는 부상선수로서 정체성을 가지게 되는데 이때 선수들은 ‘팀 내 역할 상실에 대한 두려움’을 느끼게 되며, ‘주변으로부터 소외’를 경험한다. 또한 부상으로 인해 운동을 할 수 없게 됐을 때 ‘새로운 정체성 형성에 대한 두려움’도 가지고 있었다.
TV 프로그램 '우리들의 공교시 시즌1'에 나타난 학교스포츠클럽의 의미와 엘리트스포츠 문화의 재현

The purpose of this study is to analyze how structures and practices of Korean school sports clubs are represented by the ‘Our Zero Hour Class Season 1’, a TV program, and what suggestions it provides. As methods for this study, a content analysis and an interpretative text analysis were used. The most prominent feature exhibited by the ‘Our Zero Hour Class Season 1’ as a TV program is that the program which is currently conducted in schools is organized in the form of reality through the material of school sports clubs, and that it is focused on students, the subjects of school sports clubs. This study has an implication, in that it concentrates attention on students as customers, different from the existing providers-directed studies: schools, sports instructors and physical education teachers. The key points of this study begin with two frames: contents of participatory experiences in school sports clubs and representation of school sports clubs and elite sports culture. At first, students who participated in the program have three experiences, for the meaning of experiences in school sports clubs. First, they voluntarily participated in school sports clubs, indicating an aspect of the school sports club as a voluntary association. Second, their sociality seemed to be fostered in engaging in various situations, while not only students but also adult instructors were developed together. Third, it could be found that school sports clubs have been used as fields in which their identity endowed by peers or others is verified in activities of school sports clubs or other class hours. Another three meanings could be also drawn from the representation of school sports clubs and elite sports culture. First, transference of the winner-oriented culture showing a slice of school sports clubs which only emphasize winning, which violates against the original objective of school sports clubs. Second, repeats of discipline culture which appears as elite instructors coerce amateur athletes in observing strict organizational culture. Third, manifestation of marginalization occurring when elite instructors ignore amateur basketball. Finally, meaning of this program suggests that it is necessary to find an essential value by escaping from the structure and culture of current sports clubs which are obsessed with outcomes and encourage students to have opportunities to grow as sound members of society in school sports clubs. 이 연구는 ‘우리들의 공교시 시즌1’ TV프로그램에서 국내 학교스포츠클럽이 어떠한 구조와 방식으로 재현되고 있으며, 시사하는 바가 무엇인지 분석해 보는 것이 연구의 목적이다. 이 연구를 수행하기 위한 연구 방법으로는 내용분석과 해석적 텍스트분석을 사용하였다. TV프로그램으로서 ‘우리들의 공교시 시즌1’이 드러내는 가장 큰 특징은 학교스포츠클럽이라는 소재가 현재 학교에서 실시하고 있는 프로그램을 리얼리티 형식으로 구성하였다는점이며, 학교스포츠클럽의 주체인 학생에게 프로그램의 초점이 맞춰져 있다는 점이다. 는 기존의 학교, 스포츠 강사, 체육교사 등 공급자 중심의 연구에서 벗어나 수요자인 학생에게 연구가 집중되었다는 점에서 의미를 찾을 수 있다. 이 연구의 핵심 주장은 학교스포츠클럽 참여 경험에 대한 내용과 학교스포츠클럽과 엘리트스포츠문화의 재현이라는 두 가지 틀 속에서 시작된다. 먼저, 학교스포츠클럽 경험에 대한 의미에서 프로그램 속 학생들은 크게 세 가지 경험을 하고 있었다. 첫째, 학생들은 학교스포츠클럽 참여에 자발성을 부여하였으며, 이는 자발적 결사체로써 학교스포츠클럽의 모습을 보여주었다. 둘째, 학교스포츠클럽 내에서 일어나는 다양한 상황들을 해결하는 과정 속에서 사회성이 함양되는 모습을 보여주었으며, 이는 학생뿐만 아니라 성인 지도자도 함께 사회성이 향상됨을 알 수 있었다. 셋째, 학교스포츠클럽 활동 중, 또는 다른 수업시간에 동료나 타인에 의해 자신들이 부여받은 정체성을 확인하는 장(場)으로써 학교스포츠클럽이 활용된다는 점을 알 수 있었다. 학교스포츠클럽과 엘리트스포츠문화의 재현에서도 세 가지 의미를 도출할 수 있었다. 첫째, 최초 학교스포츠클럽 시행 목적에서 변질된 오직 승리만을 외치는 학교스포츠클럽의 단면을 보여주는 승리지상주의 문화의 전이이다. 둘째, 순수 아마추어 선수들에게 엘리트 출신 지도자가 경직된 조직문화를 강요하면서 나타나는 규율문화의 답습이다. 셋째, 엘리트 출신 지도자가 아마추어 농구를 무시하는데서 나타나는 주변화(marginalization)의 발현이다. 마지막으로 이 프로그램이 주는 의미는 결과에 집착하는 현재 학교스포츠클럽 문화와 구조에서 벗어나 본래의 가치를 찾고, 올바른 사회인으로 성장할 수 있는 기회를 학교스포츠클럽에서도 찾을 수 있어야 한다는 점을 전달하고 있다.
Epidemiology of Traumatic Head Injury in Korean Children

The aim of this study was to elucidate the epidemiology of traumatic head injury (THI)among Korean children. A prospective, in-depth trauma survey was conducted in five teaching hospitals. Data from all of the children who attended the emergency department (ED) were analyzed. From June 2008 to May 2009, 2,856 children with THI visited the 5 EDs. The average age of the subjects was 5.6 (SD ± 4.9) yr old, and 1,585 (55.5%) were 0-4 yr old. The male-to-female ratio was 2.3 to 1 (1,979 vs 877). Consciousness levels of the subjects were classified according to the Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS), and 99.1%,0.6%, and 0.4% were determined as mild, moderate, or severe injury, respectively,according to the GCS categorization. Most injuries occurred at home (51.3%), and the most common mechanism of injury was collision (43.2%). With regard to outcome, 2,682(93.9%) patients were sent home, and 35 (1.2%) were transferred to another hospital. A total of 133 (4.7%) patients were hospitalized, and 38 (1.3%) underwent surgery. The incidence and characteristics of pediatric THI in Korea are affected by sex, location and injury mechanism.
