Group B Streptococcal sepsis and/or meningitis is one of the most serious and common diseases in the neonatal period with high mortality and frequent complications. We have experienced a case of late onset type group B streptococcal sepsis and meningitis with a complication of subclavian vein catheterization catheterization. This 29-day-old male neonate was admitted to intensive care unit with the presentation of fever and septic shock. He was born with Cesarean delivery at 36 weeks and 3 days of gestational age. He showed multiple episodes of seizure after admission and group B streptococcus was isolated from blood. CSF profiles 10 days after admission showed the features of bacterial meningitis without organism isolated. Diffuse cerebral infarction was detected on brain CT 24 days after admission. In the 13th hospital day, the complication of subclavian vein catheterization occurred; Guide wire was cut during insertion and the distal portion of it(2.5cm) was retained in the left subclavian vein. We removed the retained guide wire with goose-neck snare catheter via right femoral vein. This case was presented with a brief review of the literatures.

Background: Allergic rhinitis is often associated with bronchial asthma, and intranasal treatment with topical corticosteroids reduces bronchial responsiveness. Objective '. In this study, it was evaluated that the bronchial responsiveness to methacholine increased in non-asthmatic adults with house dust mites (HDM)-sensitive allergic rhinitis compared to those without, chronic nasal symptoms. Subjects and methods .' A questionnaire, skin prick t,est to common inhalant allergens, and methacholine bronchial provocation test (MBPT) were performed in a total of 216 subjects, who were composed of 40 non-asthmatic subjects with HDM-sensitive allergic rhinitis (HAR), 63 HDM-sensitive subjects without nasal symptoms (HS), and 113 non-atopic subjects without nasal symptoms (NHS). The bronchial responsiveness was evaluated by positive rate of MBPT (PC,-methacholine200mg/ml), provocative concentration of methacholine at which FEV, decline to 15% compared to baseline value (PC,-methacholine), and slope of dose-response curve (%fall of FEV, / log[last concentrat,ion of methacholine, mg/ml]). Results '. Positive rate of MBPT was significantly increased in HAR than in HS and NHS, and there was no difference between HS and NHS (77.9% vs. 50.7% vs. 38.0%). Log PC[5- methacholine was lower in HAR than in HS and NHS, and lower in HS than in NHS (mean+ SE, 1.568+0.126 vs. 2.05+0.085 vs. 2.277+0.047). Slope of dose-response curve was higher in HAR than in HS and NHS, and there was no difference bet,ween HS and NHS (mean+SE, 22.7 + 11.3 vs. 7.3+ 1.2 vs. 4.9+ 0.5%/mg/ml); Conclusion .' In non-asthmatic adults with HDM-sensitive allergic rhinitis, the bronchial responsiveness to methacholine increased compared to those without chronic rhinitis.
Quasi-Velocity-Matching물 이용한 60 GHz 광캐리어 발생기

리튬나이오베이트 기판의 분극 반전 기술을 이용하여 300Hz 대역 광변조기를 제작하였고 60 GHz 광캐리어 발생기로 응용하였다. 주기적인 분극반전은 도파광과 RF사이의 QVM(Quasi-Velocity-Matching)을 유발하여 대역변조를 가능하게 하였다. 제작된 광변조기는 30.3 GHz에서 최대 변조효율을 보였으며, 3 dB 변조 대역폭은 약 5.1 GHz로 측정되었다. DSB-SC(Double Sideband Suppressed Carrier) 측정 실험을 통해 입사된 광 주파수로부터 30 GHz 간격으로 USB(Upper Sideband)와 LSB(Lower Sideband)를 발생시켰으며 입사광의 스펙트럼은 발생된 USB 혹은 LSB에 비해 28 dB정도 억제됨으로써, 30GHz 대역 광변조기가 60 GHz 광캐리어 발생기로 응용될 수 있음을 보였다. A novel 60GHz optical carrier generator with a polarization domain-inverted structure is suggested and is demonstrated. The two arms of the Mach-Zehnder optical waveguide are periodically poled for quasi-phase velocity matching between the optical wave at 1550nm and the RF wave at 30 GHz. The center frequency of band-pass modulation and the 3 dB bandwidth of the fabricated modulator were measured to be 30.3 GHz and 5.1 GHz, respectively. Sub-carriers with the frequency difference of 60GHz waeregenerated under appropriate DC biac voltage application while the carrier was suppressed to lead to the power ratio between the modulated sub-carrier and the suppressed fundamental carrier of 28 dB, which proves that double sideband- suppressed carrier(DSB-SC) operation can be realized by the suggested single device.

This study is performed to numerically investigate the flow and thermal characteristics of adsorber bed in a chemisorption heat pump system. In such a system, chemical reaction in adsorber bed is closely related to heat transfer through adsorber bed based on the fact that the chemical reaction rate depends on the temperature of adsorber bed. This in turn leads to designing a tube-fin type adsorber for enhancing heat transfer rate and the chemisorption reaction rate in adsorber bed. In prior to examining the chemisorption reaction in adsorber bed, fluid flow and heat transfer along a single finned-tube are examined for simplicity. It is numerically found that the heat transfer rate of adsorber bed and the temperature of outlet ammonia vapor are increased as the number of fins are increased. Moreover, fluid flow and heat transfer of a longitudinal finned-tube and those of a radial finned-tube are compared under the identical surface area.
Relative Risk Ratio on the Frailty Prevalence among Korean Elderly Individuals

본 연구는 한국 노인의 쇠약 발병률을 TFI, CGA & FI, FI, CHS 척도를 이용하여 쇠약 유병률과 상대적 위험률을 산출하는데 목적이 있다. 본 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위해서 2014년과 2017년 복건복지부에서 실시한 노인실태조사에서 65세 이상 노인 10,451명(2014년)과 10,299(2017년)명을 연구대상으로 선정하여 SPSS 통계 프로그램을 이용하여 빈도분석과 신뢰도(Phi/Cramer’s V계수) 분석을 실시하였으며, 상대적 위험률 RR을 산출하기 위해 복합표본설계 방식을 반영하여 가중치를 부여하는 과정으로 2×2 카이제곱검증을 실시하여 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 첫째, 한국 노인 쇠약 유병률 2017년의 쇠약의 발생 빈도는 TFI: 1,268(16.4%), CGA와 FI: 378(4.9%), FI: 1,691(21.9%), CHS: 1,503(29.2%)으로 나타났으며, 2014년에는 TFI: 1,644(21.2%), CGA & FI: 93(1.2%), FI: 2,24 2(29%), CHS: 2,178(36.3)로 나타났다. 둘째, 2014년 보다 2017년에서 상대적 위험률 RR은 TFI .85배, CGA & FI 1.64배, FI .82배, CHS .84배로 나타났다. 이러한 결과를 종합해 볼 때 한국 노인의 쇠약을 추정하기 위한 척도 중에서 TFI, FI, CHS에서는 동질적인 것으로 나타났으나 CGA & FI 쇠약 척도는 이질적인 것으로 나타나 쇠약 유병률을 확인하기 위한 척도의 사용 시 주의가 요구된다고 판단된다. This study discriminated frailty prevalence in the Korean elderly and the Risk Ratio (RR) using the Tilburg Frailty Indicator (TFI), the Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment (CGA) and Frail Index, the Frailty Index (FI), and the Cardiovascular Health Study (CHS). 10,451 and 10,299 respondents aged 65 years were selected from the National Survey on the Actual Conditions of Older Person in Korea from the data collected in 2014 and 2017, respectively. Frailty frequency in 2017 was TFI: 1,268 (16.4%), CGA & FI: 378 (4.9%), FI: 1,691 (21.9%), and CHS: 1,503 (29.2%) and in 2014 was TFI: 1,644 (21.2%), CGA & FI: 93 (1.2%), FI: 2,242 (29%), and CHS: 2,178 (36.3). RR Confidence Interval (CI) between 2014 and 2017 showed in TFI, CGA & FI, FI, and CHS were found .85, 1.64, .82, and .84, however, in CGA & FI showed about 1.64 times higher in determining frailty prevalence risk (p < .001).For assessing frailty in the Korean elderly, CGA & FI is a homogeneous measurement scale while the TFI, CGA & FI, FRAIL Scale, and CHS are heterogeneous scales.
