We investigated the effects of IL-17A rs2275913 and IL-17F rs763780 polymorphisms on IL-17 expression and the association of these polymorphisms with the risk of gastritis and gastric cancer. IL- 17A expression was closely associated with the degree of gastritis in 55 non-neoplastic gastric mucosae and was markedly decreased in subjects carrying A allele. In addition, IL-17F expression was increased in the T allele carriers, but was not associated with gastritis. In 300 gastric cancer patients, the frequency of the rs2275913 A/A genotype was significantly higher in intestinal-type gastric cancer, when compared to that of diffuse-type gastric cancer (P>0.05). There was a significant difference in genotype distribution and allele frequencies of IL-17F rs763780 when comparing gastric cancer patients and 247 healthy controls. These results suggest that the polymorphisms of IL-17F rs763780 and IL-17A rs2275913 are closely associated with susceptibility to the development of gastritis and gastric cancer in the Korean population.
The Role of Gastrokine 1 in Gastric Cancer

Homeostatic imbalance between cell proliferation and death in gastric mucosal epithelia may lead to gastritis and gastric cancer. Despiteabundant gastrokine 1 (GKN1) expression in the normal stomach, the loss of GKN1 expression is frequently detected in gastric mucosainfected with Helicobacter pylori , as well as in intestinal metaplasia and gastric cancer tissues, suggesting that GKN1 plays an importantrole in gastric mucosal defense, and the gene functions as a gastric tumor suppressor. In the stomach, GKN1 is involved in gastricmucosal inflammation by regulating cytokine production, the nuclear factor-κB signaling pathway, and cyclooxygenase-2 expression. GKN1 also inhibits the carcinogenic potential of H. pylori protein CagA by binding to it, and up-regulates antioxidant enzymes. In addition,GKN1 reduces cell viability, proliferation, and colony formation by inhibiting cell cycle progression and epigenetic modification bydown-regulating the expression levels of DNMT1 and EZH2, and DNMT1 activity, and inducing apoptosis through the death receptordependentpathway. Furthermore, GKN1 also inhibits gastric cancer cell invasion and metastasis via coordinated regulation of epithelialmesenchymal transition-related protein expression, reactive oxygen species production, and PI3K/Akt signaling pathway activation. Although the modes of action of GKN1 have not been clearly described, recent limited evidence suggests that GKN1 acts as a gastricspecifictumor suppressor. This review aims to discuss, comment, and summarize the recent progress in the understanding of the role ofGKN1 in gastric cancer development and progression.

In the current study, we explore how women decide whether to accept or reject a potential match offered by a dating app (Tinder). Specifically, we were trying to identify overlying factors that influence the decision and understand how women make a judgment based on limited cues provided by a Tinder profile. Women largely base their decision on the perceived attractiveness and character of the potential match. The findings suggest that attractiveness is highly subjective, with no universal rules that can be quantified; thus, it is hard to predict acceptance of the potential match. There are however factors that contribute significantly to profile rejection, such as a big age difference and the inability to clearly see the face of the person.

Purpose: Gastrokine 1 plays an important role in gastric mucosal defense. Additionally, the Gastrokine 1-miR-185-DNMT1 axis has been shown to suppress gastric carcinogenesis through regulation of epigenetic alteration. Here, we investigated the effects of Gastrokine 1 on DNA methylation and gastritis.Materials and Methods: Expression of Gastrokine 1, DNMT1, EZH2, and c-Myc proteins, and the presence of Helicobacter pylori CagA protein were determined in 55 non-neoplastic gastric mucosal tissue samples by western blot analysis. The CpG island methylation phenotypewas also examined using six markers (p16, hMLH1, CDH1, MINT1, MINT2 and MINT31) by methylation-specific polymerase chain reaction. Histological gastritis was assessed according to the updated Sydney classification system.Results: Reduced Gastrokine 1 expression was found in 20 of the 55 (36.4%) gastric mucosal tissue samples and was closely associatedwith miR-185 expression. The Gastrokine 1 expression level was inversely correlated with that of DNMT1, EZH2, and c-Myc, and closely associated with the degree of gastritis. The H. pylori CagA protein was detected in 26 of the 55 (47.3%) gastric mucosal tissues and was positively associated with the expression of DNMT1, EZH2, and c-Myc. In addition, 30 (54.5%) and 23 (41.9%) of the gastricmucosal tissues could be classified as CpG island methylation phenotype-low and CpG island methylation phenotype-high, respectively.Reduced expression of Gastrokine 1 and miR-185, and increased expression of DNMT1, EZH2, and c-Myc were detected in the CpG island methylation phenotype-high gastric mucosa.Conclusions: Gastrokine 1 has a crucial role in gastric inflammation and DNA methylation in gastric mucosa.
SNA를 활용한 시베리아횡단철도의 연구동향 분석에 관한 연구

시베리아 횡단철도는 9,288㎞로 전 세계 최장이며 복선 전철화를 갖추었다. 기름, 가스, 석탄, 목재, 철. 비철 등 벌크화물의 80% 및 러시아 대외무역의 50%가 시베리아 횡단철도를 이용하고 있다. 시베리아 횡단철도는 러시아 물류의 대표시설이며 그동안 다양한 연구가 진행되었지만, 체계적인 연구동향 분석에 관한 연구는 부족한 실정이다. 특히 키워드 네트워크를 발견하고, 중요 키워드간 직간접적 연결 및 시각화 구현이 가능한 사회관계망 방법을 통한 분석은 아직까지 제시되지 못한 상황이다. 이러한 측면에서 본 연구에서는 2000–2021 기간 동안 제시된 연구를 바탕으로 시베리아 횡단철도의 물류적 측면에서 연구동향을 제시하는 것을 연구의 목적으로 한다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 연결중심성 측면에서는 TSR, “OBOR”, “railroad”, “transport cost” 순으로 중심성이 높은 것으로 확인되었다. 둘째, 매개중심성 측면에서는 “TSR”, “transport cost”, “railroad”, “Silk Road”, “NSR” 순으로 중심성이 높은 것으로 확인되었다. 마지막으로 위세중심성 측면에서는 “TSR”, “transport” cost, “OBOR”, “Eurasian land bridge”, “intermodal transport” 순으로 중심성이 높은 것으로 확인되었다. 본 연구는 본 연구는 그 동안 제시되지 않았던 물류적 측면에서 시베리아 횡단 철도의 연구동향을 분석하였다는 점에서 시사점을 갖는다.
