인산화와 초산화가 대두단백질의 기능특성과 구조에 미치는 영향

대두단백질을 인산화 및 초산화 처리에 의하여 변형시키고, 변형 대두단백질의 기능 특성을 검토하였다. 인산화 대두단백질은 비변형 대두단백질 보다 높은 용해도, 거품특성, 수분 보유력을 나타냈다. 한편, 초산화에 의에서도 유화력과 거품 특성이 현저하게 증진되었다. 대두단백질은 인산화와 초산화에 의하여 등전점이 산성쪽으로 변하였으며 단백질의 집괴화 현상도 관찰되었다. 또한, 화학변형된 대두단백질을 디스크 전기영동에 의해 분석시 단백질 밴드의 상대 이동도가 현저하게 증대되었다.
The genomes and transposable elements in plants: are they friends or foes?

Transposable elements (TEs) are mobile genetic elements that are present in prokaryotes and eukaryotes. The ubiquity and abundance of these self-replicating entities, bereft of cellular function, had earned them the label of ‘genomic parasites’. However, the status of TEs has been revised, with ample genomic and biological evidence now portraying them as “genomic gold”. They are perceived as a major participant in the evolution of species. This review addresses the classification of TEs as well as their role and significance in the evolution of genomes, genetic diversity, gene regulation, and exaptation of contemporary species of the plant and animal kingdoms.

A biotinylated anti-rat C-reactive protein (CRP) antibody was ingeniously prepared by the reaction of the unmodified antibody with a water-soluble sulfosuccinimidyl-6-(biotinamido)hexanoate. The molar biotin incorporation of the resulting modified antibody was found as 5.82. A flow-type indirect-competitive quartz crystal microbalance immunosensor system was constructed with the sensor chip immobilized with 2 mg/mL CRP as the coating antigen. When 200 μL of the modified antibody having the concentration of 0.250 mg/mL was added with a streptavidin-coated gold nanoparticle (GNP) to the immunosensor system, the frequency shift obtained was 139.8 ± 0.3 Hz. Compared to the frequency shift of 91.1 ± 1.3 Hz found with the addition of the unmodified antibody only, the signal augmentation after GNP binding amounted to 53.4%, which resulted in sensitivity improvement of the current immunosensor.
Glass Slide-based Immunosensing for C-Reactive Protein Using Quantum Dot-Antibody Conjugate

C-Reactive protein (CRP), which is an 118 kDa pentameric protein, was secreted by the liver is an important biomarker for coronary disease, hypertension and inflammation. In this study, a method for CRP detection exploiting quantum dot (Qdot)-antibody conjugate was developed according to an indirect-competitive immunosensing protocol. For this purpose, a streptavidin-bound Qdot605 was linked with a separately prepared biotinylated monoclonal antirat CRP antibody to produce a Qdot-antibody conjugate. The immunosensing was performed at 0.1 and 20 nM of the coating antigen and conjugate, respectively. The current method was found very sensitive in CRP detection,judging from the concentration-dependent fluorescence emission.
