The AMR(automatic meter reading) system has been increasingly and widely used for its efficient and intelligent management, which is a technology that automatically collects consumption data from a water meter or energy metering device. The digital meter instead of the mechanical meter should be used in the system. Up to now, various types of sensor to measure the water flow rate have been used in the digital water meter, for example, reed switch, photo IR approximate sensor, ultrasonic sensor, electromagnetic sensor, etc. In this paper, a new sensing technology, where a variable capacitor and digital circuit were used for sensing the water flow rate, was proposed. The circuit was designed and verified by Pspice simulation. And a PCB board for the circuit was fabricated. After then, a prototype of digital water meter using a variable capacitor to measure the water flow rate was fabricated. The function tests of the fabricated digital water meter were performed, and it was found that the meter worked properly. Since the new technology has much better properties in terms of cost and power consumption compared to conventional technologies, it should be one of the major digital water meter technologies in the future.
잠두(Vicia faba L)가 생산하는 Brassinisteroid 활성물질

미숙잠두 종자의 추출물을 silica gel chromatography, Sephadex LH-20 chromatography, TLC, 역, 순상의 HPLC 등에 의해 분획정제하여 BR 활성물질을 한국산 벼를 이용한 생물검정법에 의해 검색한 결과, 2종의 BR의 존재가 인정되었으며, BR 보다 분자량과 극성이 작은 물질의 존재가 시사되었다. Occurrence of two type brassinosteroid-like substances and less molecular weight substance than brassinosteroid were suggested in immature Vicia faba seeds extracts, which were purified using various chromatographic techniques, by Korean rice-lamina inclination test.
MOSFET에서 다결정 실리콘 게이트 막의 도핑 농도가 신뢰성에 미치는 영향

In this report, the results of a systematic study on the effects of polycrystalline silicon gate depletion on the reliability characteristics of metal-oxide semiconductor field-effect transistor (MOSFET) devices were discussed. The devices were fabricated using standard complimentary metal-oxide semiconductor (CMOS) processes, wherein phosphorus ion implantation with implant doses varying from $10^{13}$ to $5{\times}10^{15}cm^{-2}$ was performed to dope the polycrystalline silicon gate layer. For implant doses of $10^{14}/cm^2$ or less, the threshold voltage was increased with the formation of a depletion layer in the polycrystalline silicon gate layer. The gate-depletion effect was more pronounced for shorter channel lengths, like the narrow-width effect, which indicated that the gate-depletion effect could be used to solve the short-channel effect. In addition, the hot-carrier effects were significantly reduced for implant doses of $10^{14}/cm^2$ or less, which was attributed to the decreased gate current under the gate-depletion effects.
Deep Submicron SOI n-채널 MOSFET에서 열전자 효과들의 온도 의존성

현재 대부분의 집적회로는 bulk CMOS 기술을 사용해서 제작되고 있으나 전력 소모를 낮추고 die 크기를 줄이기에는 한계점에 도달해있다. 이러한 어려움을 획기적으로 극복할 수 있는 초저전력 기술로서 SOI CMOS 기술이 최근에 크게 각광을 받고 있다. 본 논문에서는 100 ㎚ Thin SOI 기판 위에 제작된 n-채널 MOSFET 소자들의 열전자 효과들의 온도 의존성에 관한 연구 결과들이 논의되었다. 소자들이 LDD 구조를 갖고 있음에도 불구하고 열전자 효과들이 예상보다 더 심각한 것으로 나타났는데, 이는 채널과 기판 접지 사이의 직렬 저항이 크기 때문인 것으로 믿어졌다. 온도가 높을수록 채널에서의 phonon scattering의 증가와 함께 열전자 효과는 감소하였는데, 이는 phonon scattering의 증가는 결과적으로 열전자의 생성을 감소시켰기 때문인 것으로 판단된다. Nowadays most integrated circuits are built using the bulk CMOS technology, but it has much difficulty in further reduction of the power consumption and die size. As a super low-power technology to solve such problems, the SOI technology attracts great attention recently. In this paper, the study results of the temperature dependency of the hot carrier effects in the n-channel MOSFETs fabricated on the thin SOI substrate were discussed. In spite that the devices employed the LDD structure, the hot carrier effects were more serious than expected due to the high series resistance between the channel region and the substrate contact to the ground, and were found to be less serious for the higher temperature with the more phonon scattering in the channel region, which resulted in reducing the hot electron generation.

We studied consumer attitudes and trend on green tea for the development of various green tea products. The survey was conducted in Seoul, Pusan, Kwangju, Taejon, and Cheju area of Korea by interviewing consumers with questionaires. A completely randomized research design was used for the study and analyzed statistically using SAS package. Korean people's interest of physiological effect of green tea on the human body would load to the increase of size of market for green tea. Many people traditionally serve green tea when they treat guests as they consider green tea as gourmet food. Consumers of green tea are very sensitive to its taste and flavor. They do prefer roasted flavor in green tea and prefer green tea to other tea products.

To investigate the presence of the brassinosteroid substances in immature Oryza sativa L. cv Tongjinbyeo seeds, the methanol extract was purified by the sequential use of solvent fractionation, silica gel adsorption chromatography, Sephadex LH-20 chromatography and charcoal adsorption chromatography. The activity of brassinosteroid was monitored by the rice inclination test and its presence could be confirmed in each purification step. The purified active components were separated by silica gel adsorption chromatography and Sephadex LH-20 chromatography. Brassinosteroid substances in separated active fractions were identified as castasterone, teasterone and 6-deoxocastasterone by HPLC. Our work is probably the first report of endogenous brassinosteroids in Oryza sativa seeds. The content of brassinosteroid in Oryza sativa seeds as converted into brassinolide was 0.5∼1.5 ng/g fresh weight.

The brassinosteroid-like active principles from immature seeds of Zea mars were purified and identified as castasterone, teasterone, 28-norcastasterone and 6-deoxocastasterone by GC-MS analysis. Our work is probably the first report that showed the presence of brassinosteroids in Zea mars seeds.
