        (A) Study on the Establishment plan of University Archives of Korea National University of Arts Public Records Management Act Article 10 Paragraph 11 was amended on November 4th, 2014, to specify the range of universities that should install archives amongst public universities in Korea. Korea National University of Arts (“K-ARTS”), one of the universities specified in Paragraph 11, is yet to install university archive and also lacks record management systems and relevant professional records managers. This paper demonstrates K-ARTS’ need for installation of university archive, and suggests utilization methods of the university archive by delineating the range of the items in the archive. Korea National University of Arts was established by, and remains affiliated to, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Korea. The university aims to groom young talented artists through a holistic, systematic education system centered on practical courses. The university currently comprises of six schools: School of Music, School of Film, TV & Multimedia, School of Dance, School of Visual Arts, and School of Korean Traditional Arts. K-ARTS’ curriculum requires creativity, and its students need to produce artistic pieces in their relevant degrees to complete their courses of studies. In the process of their artistic endeavors, various artistic items are produced. However, such artistic items are currently not being professionally archived or managed by the K-ARTS. Students’ graduation projects and relevant reading materials are available and managed through the university’s Arts Library & Information Center. However, the scope of work provided by the Arts Library & Information Center is limited to the preservation and searching services, with little to no archiving activities. This paper seeks to discuss K-ARTS’ need for systematic record management, given the abundance and importance of creative artistic items, and items produced thereof in the process of creating those artistic items, created by the professionals of the future arts scene. Concomitantly, the paper also suggests the ideal structure of K-ARTS’ university archive. K-ARTSS, which comprises of six schools, was judged to have a vast number of various forms of artistic items, comprising of both administrative items and non-administrative items. As such, this paper predicts that various types of artistic items need to be recorded, and thus proposes various plans to utilize those items. The paper first analyses the status quo of the K-ARTS’ records management system, and selects two existing institutions, Arko Arts Archive and Korean Film Archive, as models for the university archive. Following the analysis of the two model institutions’ records management systems, plan for installation of K-ARTSS’ university archive was proposed. The plan is as follows: First, K-ARTS’ university archive items were delineated by function and genre. The archive items were further split into administrative archive items, archived due to university requirements, and non-administrative archive items. In conjunction, by analyzing K Arts’ main functions and responsibilities, the respective functions’ main archive items were arranged. Furthermore, artistic items to be produced by the six schools within K Arts were arranged. With this, the paper proposes K-ARTS’ university archive structure. First proposed structure would be for the university archive to be an independent institution under the direct supervision of the Deans of the various Schools, with independent budgets and collaborative support from the various schools, and decision-making power regarding records management. Second proposed structure would be for the university archive to be a body under the library, based on the status quo of K-ARTS’ current Arts Library & Information Center, library, and the nature of archive. Aforementioned paragraphs have discussed plan for installation of university archive and the archive’s structure, based on the characteristics of K-ARTS. This study proposes four possible utilization methods of the university archive - should they be established - based on existing studies of archives. Firstly, this paper proposes the display structure of the university archive. The archive would utilize itself as a means to promote K-ARTS, by displaying its artistic collections and proving the educational value of its collections to society, thus attracting further interests to its collections. Secondly, this paper proposes the university archive to publish magazine issues on artistic archives. In parallel to U.S. Smithsonian Archives of American Art’s Archives of American Art Journal, the magazine issue would serve to introduce K-ARTS university archive’s collections, programs and exhibitions. Thirdly, this paper proposes university archive field trip programs and collaborative management system. Field trip program is one of the record management methods to educate how archives are managed and the state of preservation of archive collections. K-ARTS’s field trip program can further serve as a guideline for other university of arts’ artistic archive management. K-ARTS already possesses various archive planning programs, with rough archives on K-ARTS-related artists and oral history research. This paper proposes further activating the existing programs. This can be achieved by collaborating with the K-ARTS library and external art institutions. Fourthly, this paper proposes for a management of a program that archive K-ARTS students’ individual class projects. It is difficult for a university archive to collect all of artistic items accumulated by individual students through their classes and activities. To overcome this, cognition of individual archive needs to be improved, and structure of university archives that have been successful in the aforementioned endeavor needs to be studied and adopted. For example, students themselves could upload their individual projects completed for classes to K-ARTS’s website, so as for the university archive to accumulate non-administrative archive items - students’ individual projects. The uploaded artistic items would then be archived under the university archive, and this can further be utilized in an archive for graduates who have developed into eminent personnel. Aside from the aforementioned university archive management methods that could be adopted by K-ARTS, continual support needs to be given to the record managers so as for them to systematically manage the university archive in accordance with the characteristics of K-ARTS. Besides, collaboration with other university archives and/or non-university archives can facilitate academic publications, joint exhibitions, and exchange of record management techniques and information - further developing K-ARTS university archive. This paper has discussed the effects of K-ARTS university archive’s installation and the systematic management of archive items. Firstly, K-ARTS’s university archive installation could serve as an example for other universities’ School of Arts, other arts universities, and arts high schools, and guide in their endeavors to install archives. Secondly, K-ARTS university archive could reinforce its own arts education system, and also raise the level of professionalism of domestic arts. Lastly, it can serve to raise the future value of domestic arts culture.

      • 예술경영 교육기관 개선방안 연구 : 한국예술종합학교 예술경영과 예술전문사 과정 피교육자를 대상으로

        한국예술종합학교 예술경영 예술전문사 과정은 국내 석사학위 수준의 예술경영 관련 교육기관 중 비교적 초기라 할 수 있는 2000학년도에 설립․운영됐다. 한국예술종합학교가 추구하는 ‘실기 중심’의 교과과정은 예술경영과에 와서는 ‘현장 중심’으로 운영되고 있다. 하지만 본 학과를 경험한 다수의 피교육자의 교육적 만족도는 천차만별이었다. 연구자는 한국예술종합학교라는 교육기관에서 다양한 교육과정을 겪으며 학교만의 특성과 장점, 그리고 한계점에 대해 인지하게 됐으며, 한국예술종합학교 예술경영 예술전문사 피교육자의 만족도를 파악하고 개선사항 연구의 필요성을 느끼게 됐다. 본 연구의 목적은 한국예술종합학교 예술경영과 예술전문사 피교육자의 만족도를 파악, 분석하여 예술경영 교육기관의 개선방안을 모색하는 것이다. 이를 위해 설문조사와 심층인터뷰, 두 가지 연구방법을 사용했다. 우선 전수조사를 기본으로 하여 진행된 설문조사를 통해 연구 대상자의 인구통계적 특성과 학과에 관한 만족도를 살펴봤다. 심층인터뷰는 설문조사와 연결점을 갖고 있는데, 연구자가 정한 기준에 의해 선정된 대상자와 설문조사에서 파악된 내용을 바탕으로 자유로운 대담 형식으로 진행됐다. 이를 통해 다양한 의견과 제언이 나타났지만, 특히 입시고사, 커리큘럼, 인적 네트워크, 교․강사진, 행정체계에 관한 개선사항이 다수의 응답자에 의해 거론됐다. 입시고사에서는 현재 영어에만 집중되어 있는 고사방식을 다각화 할 필요와 논술고사 도입 등이 거론됐으며, 커리큘럼에서는 홍보 및 마케팅 관련 수업 보완과 법률수업의 강화, 커리큘럼을 통한 인적 네트워크 공고화라는 의견이 언급됐다. 동문회 활성화의 필요성과 교내 타 예술전공 학생과의 교류 활성화가 대두됐으며, 학생들의 다양한 배경을 고려한 교․강사진 보완, 연극원 전임교수 보완 등이 요구된다. 그리고 마지막으로 학과보다는 학교 자체의 개선사항으로 행정체계에 관한 다양한 의견이 언급됐다. 조사 결과 눈에 띄었던 점은 다수의 학생이 학과가 학교 내 입지 및 대외적 영향력이 과거에 비해 약해졌다고 느낀다는 점이다. 이런 점은 입시 지원자 수의 감소, 점차 낮아지는 만족도 등 연구에서 나타난 일련의 현상으로 단순히 개개인의 의견만은 아니라는 것이 드러났다. 학과의 발전과 예술경영 교육기관으로서의 방향성을 위해 언급된 요소들이 하나 둘씩 개선되어야 할 것이다. The Department of Art Management (Graduate Course) at Korea National University of Arts was founded in 2000, relatively early compared to other graduate school-level art management graduate institution in South Korea. The 'practice-oriented' curriculum pursued by the school is operated as 'field-oriented' in the Department of Art Management. However, the level of educational satisfaction experienced by a majority of educatees were multifarious. The author became aware of the characteristics, strengths and limitations of Korea National University of Arts after undergoing several undergraduate curricula and felt the need to identify the variation in the level of satisfaction experienced by educates of Department of Art Management (Graduate Course) at Korea National University of Arts. The purpose of this study is to identify and analyze the variation in the level of satisfaction experienced by educates of Department of Art Management (Graduate Course) at Korea National University of Arts and explore improvement measures for graduate institution of arts management. To achieve this, two research methods were exploited: survey and interview. The entire sample pool of educates were surveyed to determine their level of satisfaction on the department and demographic characteristics, if any. Interviews were conducted in connection with the survey questionnaire. They were in a free conversation form based on the answers provided in the questionnaire by each interviewer. Through them, a number of suggestions developed, but most indicated areas of improvement regarding entrance exam, curriculum, human network, instructors and teachers and administrative system. With regard to entrance exam, the need for diversification of the test that is too concerted on English and adding essays. With regard to the curriculum, reinforcement in PR and marketing-related classes, law courses and consolidation of human network through curriculum were mentioned. Surveyees and interviewees also commented on the need for an alumni association, exchange with students from other art schools, reinforced instructors and teachers in consideration of the assorted backgrounds of the students, and improved full-time faculty members for the School of Theater. Lastly, rather than the departments, the surveyees and interviewees provided a wide range of ideas regarding the administration system of the school.

      • 임준희의 세 대의 가야금을 위한 <순간> 분석 연구

        작곡가 임준희는 동 · 서양의 융합을 꾀하는 작품을 선보이며 한국미학의 세계화를 실현하고 있다. 또한 음악 장르간의 융합뿐만 아니라 문학작품과 음악의 결합이라는 복합적인 측면에서 그의 작품은 창작국악계의 방향성을 제시해준다. 그의 대표적인 작품 “세 대의 가야금을 위한 <순간>”은 영상시집 하이쿠비전(haiku-vision)에 수록되어있는 시의 이미지를 음악으로 형상화한 작품으로 자연의 다섯 가지 순간을 음화적인 측면에서 풀어낸다. 작품 “세 대의 가야금을 위한 <순간>”을 분석한 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 앤 애트우드(Ann atwood)의 영상시집 하이쿠비전에서 창작 모티브를 얻은 “세 대의 가야금을 위한 <순간>”은 문학작품과 국악의 만남이라는 작곡가의 융 · 복합적인 작품세계를 확인해 볼 수 있다. 더불어 25현 가야금을 바탕으로 서양음악과 전통음악의 색채를 어떻게 조화롭게 풀어내었는지 확인할 수 있다. 둘째, “세 대의 가야금을 위한 <순간>”은 각 악장에서 존재하는 모티브가 발전 및 변형해 유기적인 관계를 구성한다. 또한 세 대의 가야금 선율이 교차적으로 모방 및 발전 진행해 가야금 삼중주의 협주적인 측면이 돋보인다. 셋째, 전통음악의 고유성을 변화시킨 25현 가야금 세대는 고음 · 중음 · 저음의 음역구분을 통해 확장된 음역과 화성적인 표현, 가야금의 다채로운 기법과 리듬적인 음형을 구사하여 문학적인 이미지를 음악으로 형상화한다. 이를 통해 가야금 삼중주의 상호작요를 효과적으로 보여준다. 마지막으로 작품세계 및 활동을 살펴봄으로서 악보에 들어나지 않은 곡의 내면적인 성격을 파악할 수 있었다. 더불어 작곡자의 작곡의도를 연주로 실현시켜야 함을 알 수 있었다. 본 연구를 토대로 가야금 창작음악의 발전과 가야금 합주곡의 효과적인 연주, 더 나아가 가야금의 현대화에 새로운 작업을 할 수 있는 동기를 제공하길 바란다. 또한 창작국악의 연구가 더욱 활발해져 타 장르와의 융 · 복합을 통해 전통음악의 고유성을 지닌 레퍼토리가 체계화되길 바란다. June Hee Lim is a composer who shows conversion of western and eastern, and globalize Korean aesthetic. In complex aspect of conversion of musical genres and art genres (literature and music), her music represents the direction of composed Korean music. Her major work <The Five Visionary Moments> is a musical imagery of image poem Haiku-vision. The piece expresses five moments of nature by tone painting. The result of analysis <The Five Visionary Moments> is as follows. Firstly, <The Five Visionary Moments> shows integral and complex world of composer. The work got inspiration from the collection of image poem Haiku-vision by Ann Atwood, which is a meeting between literature and Korean music. Also, 25 strings Gayageum of the piece represents tones of western classical and Korean traditional music harmonically. Secondly, the motives of every movement have organic relationship by development and alteration. Also, the melody of three Gayageum proceed with imitation and development, which shows concertante aspects of Gayageum trio. Thirdly, the three Gayageum configure literal image to music by various technique and rhythmical form. 25 strings Gayageum changed the inward nature of Korean traditional music. By division of tone range as low, mid, high tone, the tone range of music has extended and become harmonic. In other words, the piece indicates the interaction of Gayageum trio effectually. Lastly, Inner characteristic of the piece was appeared by researching her entire works and activities. Therefore the compositional purpose of the work could be implemented. I hope this study motivated development of Gayageum composition and advanced performance of Gayageum Ensemble, and further, the modernization of Gayageum. In addition, the study of newly created Korean music should be activated. By this distinctive repertories which has uniqueness of traditional music and convergence of various genre would be flourished.
