Using the twin-roller type melt quenching technique the effects of rpm on the microstructures and mechanical properties of 6-4 brass have been investigated. The results are as follows; 1. Using the twin-roll method, it was possible to produce the 6-4 brass sheet. 2. The increase of roll speed raised the cooling rate and the structure was finely dendrited. 3. Hardness and Ultimate Tensile Strength increased with the cooling rate. 4. With the increase of cold rolling ratio, the hardness was raised. 5. In the rapidly solidified specimen the structures of the specimen were CuZn(HCP) + β-brass (BCC) + CuZn(Mono). When it had been heat-treated, new structure was found to be CuZn(Cubic).
