現代 社會에서 필요로 하는 새로운 情報, 知識獲得의 욕구와 인간성 회복, 공동체성 회복을 위한 平生敎育이 普遍化되고 있지만 아직도 중산층 이하 疎外된 계층에게는 새로운 情報와 교육을 받을 만한 여건이 貧弱한 실정이다. 따라서 敎會敎育은 평생교육에 있어서 빼놓을 수 없는 重要한 要所이다. 교회는 지역사회 어느 곳이나 存在하지 않는 곳이 없으며, 각 교회의 형편에 따라 차이는 있으나, 社會敎育 활동에 필요한 多樣한 인적자원과 講義場所 및 시설, 교육매체 등을 갖추고 있다. 그리고 교회는 非營利를 추구하는 등 사회교육을 실시하기에 많은 長點을 갖추고 있다. 그러나 한국교회가 個敎會 중심으로 성장하면서 신자들을 위한 교육도 信仰敎育으로 일관되는 경향으로 흐르고 있다. 따라서 본 硏究는 현재 교회를 다니고 있는 교인들을 대상으로 敎會社會敎育의 活性化方案을 摸索하는데 본 硏究의 目的이 있다. 이러한 目的에 따라 본 연구는 文獻硏究와 調査硏究를 병행하였으며, 調査硏究는 서울특별시 강북지역 일부교단의 牧會者 157명과 성인 평신도 715명을 중심으로 임의로 선정하여 設問調査를 실시하였다. 調査道具는 일반적인 사항, 교회사회교육에 관한 사항, 교회사회교육시간에 관한 사항, 교회사회교육 프로그램 등 總 38문항으로 구성, 百分率과 頻度數를 算出하여 변인간의 相關關係를 分析하고 내용의 차이를 알아보기 위하여 Х^(2)-Test를 실시하여 다음과 같은 結論이 導出되었다. 1) 대부분 교회사회교육이 必要하다고 생각함에도 불구하고 많은 교회들이 사회교육을 實施하고 있지 않으며, 교인들의 교육프로그램에 대한 學習 참여도 소수에 불과했다. 교육프로그램의 多樣化와 質的 向上등을 꾀해야 할 것이다. 2) 대다수 교인들이 교회사회교육의 未參與에 대한 이유로 時間不足과 敎育時間의 適切하지 않음을 들었다. 프로그램에 따라 적절한 요일과 시간대를 찾는 것이 필요하다. 특히 20대와 직장인을 위한 프로그램의 경우 토요일 19-21시를, 가정주부의 경우 화요일 10-12시를 가장 選好한 것으로 나타났다. 3) 敎會社會敎育 方法에 대하여 應答者들은 종전의 講義式 일변도의 교육방법보다 討論式을 포함한 교육프로그램에 따른 多樣한 교육방법을 원했으며, 교육기간은 3∼6개월사이의 敎育期間을 選好한 것으로 나타났다. 4) 信仰敎育과 子女敎育領域을 제외한 교육프로그램에 대한 參與는 극히 낮았으며, 希望하는 교육내용도 신앙교육과 자녀교육영역에 置重되었다. 그 외에 컴퓨터나 외국어교육같은 실생활에 필요한 프로그램도 希望度가 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 이처럼 교인들이 교회에서 신앙ㆍ자녀 교육외의 다른 교육을 받는 것을 選好하지 않는 이유는 실질적으로 교회가 이에 필요한 人力이나 敎育裝備를 갖추지 못하고 있는데서 起因한다고 말할 수 있다. 5) 전반적으로 교인들은 교회사회교육에 관한 만족도에서 不滿足스럽다고 나타났다. 따라서 교회는 보다 수준 높은 專門的인 講士들과 학습자들에게 適切한 교육프로그램 및 교육시간대를 찾기 위한 부단한 努力과 硏究를 竝行해야 할 것이다. The Needs for Lifelong education in Modern Society are much in demanded by the ordinary people to get new informations, knowledge and to recover of human nature and common life. But for the low class it is hard to take any opportunities because of the circumstances they are in. At any rate Lifelong education is so important factor to improve their lifestyle. In order to meet such desire Christian Church can do something for those who seek for ways of learning. Every where there are Churches. Most of the Christian Churches have their interests in various activities of social education. Because she has man power and facilities to use as well as media of education she is in a better situation to proceed it. Nevertheless many churches in practices, because of church growth-orientated, seems to emphasize on Christian education only. This thesis, therefore, aims to encourage her to set up certain kind of social education for the local community where she exists. For such purpose this thesis searched for materials on this field as well as statistics through the Churches that the social education being taught. The survey was done by distribution of questionnaire to 157 pastors in KangBuk area of Seoul and 715 ordinary Christian folks. The questionnaire included general questions on social education of the Church, and special questions on its times and programs. It was total 38 questions. For the survey, the writer used Х² - test. Consequently the below is the result. 1. Most respondents think of the need of the Lifelong Education but many of them do not have it at all. But those who are in the places where it is done are not active enough because the are not many choices. So the needs to open various choices and good qualities for seekers to involve in it are strongly recommended. 2. The main reasons of non-mobilizing members of the Church are shortage of the time to use and non-proper time to teach. So it is certain that the best time to have it is being set up. Especially for the young people and workers the programs are required in 19:00-21:00 on Saturday, and for the housewives 10:00-12:00 in Tuesday Morning are best times to proceed its programs. 3. About the method of social education of the Church, respondents are more fond of various ways including a discussion, rather than a discourse. And according to the results 3months-6months was best education term. 4. The participants in other programs than Bible studies and Children education were few. Most of Christians required rather religious education. Only few of them want to learn computer and foreign languages. The reason why they do not want others because the Church could not provide better education with better man power. So if the church can provide better facilities with good quality it will be much effectual to reach out non Christian people. 5. Most Christians are not satisfied with the social education programs of the Church. Therefore she need to raise up proper person to teach and provide many choices to participate the programs in a proper time.
