5-지방산화효소 억제제 질루톤의 뇌출혈 모델에서의 영향 연구
The 5-lipoxygenase is a key enzyme involved in the biosynthesis of leukotrienes and its inhibition showed neuroprotective effects in various models of central nervous system diseases such as cerebral ischemia, epilepsy, and Alzheimer’s disease. In this study, we investigate whether zileuton, administered after intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH), can reduce cerebral edema and hemorrhage volume in a rodent experimental model of ICH. ICH was induced via stereotactic administration of bacterial collagenase in Sprague-Dawley rats. Edema was calculated as the increased amount of water content of the cerebral hemisphere compared to that of the cerebellum, Hemorrhage size was quantified by a spectrophotometric assay. Edema was reduced in the double-dose group compared to the ICH-only group (3.50±0.17% vs. 5.22±0.37%; p=0.008). The administration of zileuton did not show a change in hemorrhage size (p=0.548). These results show zileuton treatment may have neuroprotective effects after ICH through reduction of perihematomal edema.

Because of the increment of distribution volume following highly grown-industrialization and the overpopulation on a big city, difficult conditions of traffic are embossed. Moreover, caused by a steep increment of an automobile, land route traffic reached limits and a solicitude for environmental problems, such as atmospheric contamination by exhaust gases and a din pollution, are getting higher. However, on conditions that durable investments for social overhead capital are not enough and traffic and environmental problems are become one of the most urgent problems in our society, electric railroad systems which has much benefit such as environmental-friendliness, efficiency for fuel, safety, rapidness, and convenience, are presented as an optimal alternative-solutions for present traffic problems. In according to these trends, electric railroad diffusions get spread, electrifications for main railroad lines gets accomplished, and a demand for electric energy as a main power source of electric railroad is increasing rapidly. Increments of electric railroad operations cause prime cost curtailment by reducing transportation cost through energy efficiency enlargement and solution proposal for environmental problem through environment-friendliness. However, several problems such as inductive interference on communication line and harmonic current injection, are occurred. Based on the common characteristics of these problems, fundamental solutions are needed by railroad system standardization. On this paper, as one of the fundamental solutions by railroad system standardization, simulation modules for DC supplying railroad system are proposed. Two types of railroad substation modules, fixed and variable line impedance modules, and railroad vehicle module are constructed by PSCAD/EMTDC. By suggestion for these modules, we may verify for design of DC railroad system before execution. And it may be expected that studies for DC supplying railroad system are activated.

In this thesis, we propose a new halftoning scheme that preserves the structure and tone similarities while maintaining the simplicity of Floyd-Steinberg error diffusion. Our algorithm is based on Floyd-Steinberg error diffusion algorithm, but it is modified in the part of the threshold modulation to improve over-blurring of Floyd-Steinberg error diffusion algorithm. Since our algorithm changes the quantizer thresholds according to the structure information and random noise, it preserves the details in the textured region. Simultaneously, it also reduces visual artifacts of the original error diffusion in the uniform region. Unlike existing error diffusion algorithms, the proposed algorithm preserves fine texture very well even in low contrast images. Our algorithm has been tested on various types of images including low contrast images and shows visually pleasing results both in the textured region, and in the uniform region. Plasma Display Panels (PDPs) suffer from motion artifacts such as motion picture distortion (MPD). To reduce MPD, PDPs use the limited gray levels instead of the whole 256 gray levels. Therefore we need multitoning to represent the absent gray levels among the whole gray levels. We extend our algorithm for multitoning in PDP.
