In this study, as environmental uncertainty is increasing due to COVID-19 and war, supply chain uncertainty is causing supply and demand shock due to supply chain collapse, factory closure, and contraction of service sector activities, which has a significant impact on corporate performance. In order to discover opportunities and crises in such a rapidly changing business environment and market environment and respond appropriately, companies must be able to adapt quickly to change environment dynamically.
In this ever-changing and unpredictable business environment, it is important for companies to recognize the changed environment faster than anyone else and seek countermeasures. Organizational agility is a countermeasure to these. Organizational agility refers to an organization's strategic capabilities to respond quickly to problems to the event of a rapidly changing business environment and uncertain business situation(Zain et al., 2005). The importance of organizational agility can be found through a number of previous studies, also it can be seen that this organizational agility has a positive effect on corporate performance as a result(Swafford et al., 2006; Tallon & Pinsonneault, 2011). Information technology development can also increase the efficiency of the supply chain through efficient sharing and dissemination of information by applying digital networks and information technology to the entire process of business being consist of purchase, manufacture, distribution, sales, and services.
Accordingly, companies are striving to secure competitive advantage and strengthen internal capabilities by exchanging information and utilizing external resources through collaboration with partners that have interactive relationships within the supply chain in line with the rapidly changing corporate environment(Kim, 2020). In this process, collaboration with partner companies is very important. Collaborative relationships for mutual benefit forms a deep sense of trust between companies, maximizing corporate profits and achieve optimization of supply chain networks. This is a major factor in the competition strategy that improves the productivity and profitability of the organization and has an important influence on corporate performance.
Therefore, this study examined the significant relationship between organizational agility and corporate performance in a supply chain environment with high environmental uncertainty, and empirically verified the structural relationship between organizational agility and corporate performance through collaboration system quality(system, information, service). As a result this study conducted a multi-group analysis to confirm the effect of corporate collaboration system quality and e-collaboration on organizational agility and corporate performance. And moderate effect according to the level of environmental uncertainty.
In this study First, in the relationship between collaboration system quality and information collaboration, information quality and service quality among the sub-components of collaboration system quality had a positive (+) effect on information collaboration, but system quality did not have a significant effect. Second, in the relationship between collaboration system quality and operation collaboration, system quality, information quality, and service quality, which are sub-components of collaboration system quality, were all found to have a positive (+) effect on operation collaboration. Third, in the relationship between information collaboration and operation collaboration, information collaboration was found to have a positive (+) effect on operation collaboration. Fourth, in the relationship between e-collaboration and organizational agility, information collaboration and operation collaboration, which are sub-elements of e-collaboration, were found to have a positive (+) effect on organizational agility. Fifth, information collaboration and operation collaboration, which are sub-elements of e-collaboration in the relationship between e-collaboration and corporate performance, were found to have a positive (+) effect on corporate performance. Sixth, in the relationship between organizational agility and corporate performance, organizational agility was found to have a positive (+) effect on corporate performance. Finally, as a result of using multi-group analysis to check the moderating effect of environmental uncertainty, it was found that environmental uncertainty had a moderating effect on information collaboration among the quality factors of the collaboration system.
To ensure stable supply chain and sustainable growth in a business environment with high environmental uncertainty, it is important to increase corporate agility and corporate performance through e-collaboration with partner companies by establishing a collaborative system to identify and respond to environmental uncertainty. Therefore, this study suggests the direction for stable and sustainable growth in the business environment of companies with high environmental uncertainty, and analyzes the relationship between collaboration system quality, e-collaboration, organizational agility, and corporate performance and suggests the stable securing of domestic supply chains, competitiveness, and direction.
