Based on the relevant pre-researching of shared office, this paper presents the direction of spatial composition classification and examines the scale of each space area to provide the basic data for future space planning of the shared office.
In order to analyze the space composition characteristics of co-office space, on the basis of the space composition classification method studied in pre-researching, the public space is classified as business space, business support space, and public space. Business space is the main space of co-working space, according to the open form of space and composition of actual personnel, it can be divided into private office area, multi-person office area and open-plan office area. Business support spaces are classified as conference rooms, multipurpose rooms, phone booths, OA device spaces, and information spaces, it can carry out incidental tasks so that efficient work progress and natural collaboration can take place in shared offices. The public space is a space that induces informal encounters between people who take a simple break from work or share an office together, including rest areas, tasting spaces, sports spaces, entertainment spaces, passageways and other (cloakrooms, mailboxes).
As time goes on and changing trend of area ratio of co-working space, the business space and the business support space show a relative trend of change. Business support space and public space show the same trend.
It is understood that the shared office is divided into three sizes: small (less than 500m2), medium (500m2 to 1,500m2), and large (more than 1,500m2). As the size of the space increased, the ratio of work space decreased, and the ratio of work space and public space was found to be correlated, it regardless of the size. Through analysis, it can be confirmed that in small co-working space, the proportion of business space is larger than that of public space. In large co-working space, the proportion of business space is smaller than that of public space. In the medium co-working space, the proportion of business space and public space is basically the same.
Based on prior research, the form types of shared office can be classified into three types: cafe type, incubating type and network type. It is understood that the area of cafe type is listed in the order of public space > work space> work space> work space, and the incubation type and network type are in the order of work space > public space> work support space. Among the three types of forms, the largest ratio of work space is the network type, and the largest ratio of work support space and public space is the cafe type.
The space program of the shared office has different characteristics depending on the region. In Asia, the workplace shows a trend of work support space and public space, and in non-Asian areas, the work space and public space show a proportional trend, but the clear correlation between public space and two other spaces could not be confirmed. In Asia, the ratio of work space to public space is larger than that of public space, and in non-Asian areas, the ratio of work space to public space is smaller than that of public space.
In the existing data, it is difficult to calculate the proportions and criteria of the entire space composition, because it is only used by the General Office guide without the Shared office space planning criteria. but in this study, the ratio and the composition of each type of space were confirmed based on the area. Although these space program characteristics cannot be an absolute guideline at this point, it is expected that they will be used as basic data in the scale setting, space composition, and area allocation when constructing and remodeling shared offices.
