지속과 무의식 = ‘생동하는 무의식’은 우리의 존재에 대해 무엇을 말해주는가?

국문 초록 (Abstract)

무의식과 관련된 가장 중요한 문제 중의 하나는 여전히, 마땅히 그러한 이름으로 불리어야만 될 어떤 것이 실제로 존재하느냐의 문제인 것으로 보인다. 프로이트에게 ‘무의식의 발견자’라는 평가가 주어지는 것은 그가 무의식의 존재성에 대해서 쏠리는 많은 의혹의 시선들에 맞설 수 있는 매우 강력한 논리를 제시하고 있다는 것과 관련 있는 것으로 보이며, 이 논리의 핵심 근간은 ‘프로이트 이후’의 대다수의 이론들에게 그대로 계승되고 있는 것으로 보인다. 그런데 베르그손은 무의식에 대해 프로이트와는 전혀 다른 이해를 제시하며, 따라서 무의식의 작용이 원인이 되어 발생하는 것으로 설명되는 각종 정신병리적 현상들에 대해서도, 무의식에 대한 프로이트의 이해에 바탕을 둔 해석과는 다른 해석을 내릴 수 있는 가능성을 잉태한다. 우리는 베르그손의 ‘지속’ 개념이 어떻게 무의식에 대해 프로이트의 것과는 다른 새로운 이해를 가지도록 만들며, 융과 들뢰즈라는 새로운 창조적 정신들이 어떻게 무의식에 대한 베르그손의 이러한 새로운 이해를 정신병리적 현상들의 분석에 구체적으로 적용하여 이 현상들의 의미와 가치에 대해 프로이트의 이론과 대립하는 새로운 이해를 제시하게 되는지를 살펴보려 한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

In this paper, I try to show how the fundamental concept of Bergson’s philosophy, duration, allows him to elaborate on a new theory of unconsciousness. As this theory is greatly different from that of Freud, and what psychopathy is depends upon what unconsciousness is, this difference in understanding of the latter makes it possible to have a different understanding of the former. We believe that Jung and Deleuze are among those who proceeded to develop this new possibility in a concrete form. To demonstrate this lineage from Bergson to Jung and Deleuze, I try to show how the two latter thinkers’ appreciation of the meaning of certain psychopathic phenomena, which is different from Freud’s, can be understood to have been produced by an elaborate application of the bergsonien conception of the unconsciousness.
