개혁신학자들의 교육사상 비교연구: 헬만 바빙크, 루이스 벌코프, 코넬리우스 반 틸을 중심으로 = A Comparative Study on Educational Thought of Reformed Theologians: Centered Herman Bavinck, Louis Berkhof, and Cornelius Van Til

Today, Korean churches and Christian schools are becoming increasingly secularized. In this reality, it is a very important to compare and analyze the educational thoughts of reformed theologians, and it will bring a new conscious awakening. In particular, this article has responsibility to not only to point out the educational aspects but also it is essential to show how we should interpret the essence of Christianity and how we should deliver the principles. Herman Bavinck as a theologian had also an enormous impact in the field of Christian education. Above all, he pointes out the moral danger of secularized education and reconfirms the religious and spiritual value which it was destroyed. Christian Education of the foundation by Louis Berkhof with Cornelius Van Til actually become the foundation of Christian education. Overall, this book is a very solid resource of education, and helps all Christian teachers (parents) to have a better understanding of the importance of Christian education. Philosophically, it is also the best article that dealt with secular education and Christian education. It offers practical help on the application of training. Van Til`s article is phenomenological, but is philosophically in depth. For Berkhof, the theology regarding the divine authority and responsibility of parents becomes the foundation of education. This can be the best way for teachers to understand biblical thoughts of Louis Berkhof and Cornelius Van Til. According to them, an opinion that believers with unbelievers can share is actually nothing. In fact, a public education is already crumbling, and also the true education has been seriously eroded. So the man is no more “personal being” with the “image of God,” he is becoming a machine or its accessories. In other words, an education without God and Christian faith is no more the true education. We have to give up existentialism and pragmatism by man who totally corrupted. If we go back to the biblical essentialism again, we would be finally realized the true education.
