유불교섭사의 맥락에서 바라본 조선불교 심성론의 변용

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 ‘유불교섭사의 맥락에서 바라본 조선불교 심성론의 변용’이란 주제 아래 조선전기와 조선후기의 두 시기로 나누어 2년에 걸쳐 진행되었다.
조선시기 유학과 불교의 철학적 핵심주제는 ‘심성론(불성론)’에 있다고 할 수 있는데, 유불교섭사의 맥락을 기초로 하여 조선시기의 심성론이 시기별로 어떻게 전개되었는지를 파악하고자 하였다. 이를 통하여 조선불교 심성론의 특징과 변화를 살펴보고자 하는 것이 본 연구의 목표이다.
2년간의 연구 활동은 1차 년도와 2차 년도 각각 기초 작업과 논문 작업이 이루어졌다. 기초 작업은 주요원전과 선행연구물들을 정리하여 분석하는 작업과 핵심원전에 대한 강독작업이 이루어졌다. 그리고 논문작업은 조선전기와 조선후기로 나누어 불교의 심성론을 유학의 심성론과 비교 검토하여 그 핵심을 정리하였고, 사상사적 맥락에서 조선불교의 심성론이 어떻게 변화되었는지를 고찰하였다.
본 연구는 억불의 상황에 처해 있던 조선시기의 불교를 인물위주의 연구가 아닌 심성론(불성론)이란 철학적 주제를 통하여 통시적으로 파악하였다는 점과 유학과의 상호관련성 및 사상사적 맥락 속에서 연구했다는 점에서 학술적 의의가 있다고 할 수 있다.
본 연구의 결과물은 현재 ‘유불교섭사의 맥락에서 바라본 조선 전기 불교 심성론의 변용’과 ‘유불교섭사의 맥락에서 바라본 조선 후기 불교 심성론의 변용’이란 제목으로 초고가 완성되어 있는 상태이며, 몇 가지 수정∙보완 작업을 거쳐, 결과보고서를 제출한 이후에 학술등재지에 투고할 예정이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study has been progressed for two years under the title, ‘The Change of the Theory of Mind and Nature in Joseon Buddhism in the Viewpoint of the Context of Negotiation History between Confucianism and Buddhism’ dividing into two periods, the early and late Joseon.
We can say that the main philosophical theme in Joseon dynasty is‘the theory of human mind and nature(the theory of Buddha-nature)’. I tried to figure out the time-periodic development progress of the theory of human mind and nature during Joseon dynasty. It is the goal of this study to look into the characteristics and change of the theory of mind and nature in Joseon Buddhism.
The research activities for two years have been progressed as groundwork and paper work in each year. The groundwork was to arrange and analyse the main original text and the advanced researches and to read the core original text. The paper work was to compare and weigh the theory of mind and nature between Confucianism and Buddhism during two periods, early and late Joseon. Then I arranged the core and examined the change progress of the theory of mind and nature in Joseon Buddhism in the context of the thought history.
