중등교사의 ‘성과 결혼’, ‘통일과 안보’ 쟁점에 대한 수용성 분석 = Analysis on Secondary School Teachers’ Acceptance of the Issues of ‘Sex and Marriage’ and ‘Unification and Security’

국문 초록 (Abstract)

사회적 쟁점을 수업에서 다루는 것은 민주시민 자질 육성이라는 학교 교육의 역할에 비추어 볼 때 그 타당성이 매우 높다고 할 수 있다. 이 글은 중등 교사를 대상으로 성과 결혼, 통일과 안보 쟁점을 수업에서 다루는 것에 대해 어떻게 생각하고 있는지 알아보기 위한 것이다. 이를 위해 다음과 같은 3가지 연구 문제를 설정하였다. 첫째, 중등학교 교사의 성과 결혼, 통일과 안보 쟁점에 대한 수용성은 어느 정도인가? 둘째, 이들 쟁점 수용성과 인식 요인(하위 구인) 간에는 어떤 관계가 있는가? 셋째, 교사의 인구․사회적 특성에 따라 이들 쟁점에 대한 수용성에 차이가 있는가? 분석 결과, 먼저, 성과 결혼, 통일과 안보 쟁점에 대한 수용성은 두 쟁점 모두 보통 수준(3.0)보다 높았다. 둘째, 외부 간섭의 불안감이 성과 결혼, 통일과 안보 쟁점 수용성에 가장 큰 제약 요인으로 나타났다. 셋째, 교사의 성별, 근무 학교급, 이념 지향성에 따라 수용성에서 차이가 있었다. 이러한 분석 결과를 바탕으로 성과 결혼, 통일과 안보 쟁점에 대한 교사의 수용성을 높이기 위한 몇 가지 제언을 하였다

Addressing social issues in class can be said to have a very high validity in light of the role of school education in nurturing the qualities of democratic citizens. This article is aimed at finding out what middle school teachers think about dealing with the issues of ‘sex and marriage’ and ‘unification and security’ in their classes. To this end, the following three research questions were set.
First, how receptive are secondary school teachers to the issues of ‘sex and marriage’ and ‘unification and security’? Second, what is the relationship between these issue acceptability and recognition factors (sub-constructs)? Third, are there differences in the receptivity to these issue depending on the demographic and social characteristics of teachers? As a result of the analysis, first, acceptance of the issues of ‘sex and marriage’ and ‘unification and security’ was higher than neutrality (3.0) for both issues. Second, anxiety about external interference appeared to be the biggest obstacle to acceptance of the issues of ‘sex and marriage’ and ‘unification and security’. Third, there were differences in acceptability depending on the teacher’s gender, school level, and ideological orientation. Based on the results of this analysis, several suggestions were made to increase teachers’ acceptance of the issues of ‘sex and marriage’ and ‘unification and security’.
