하이데거 『존재와 시간』에서 의미(Sinn)와 의의(Bedeutung)에 대한 고찰 = A Consideration of Meaning and Significance in Heidegger’s Being and Time

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 하이데거의 『존재와 시간』에서 중심적으로 다뤄지는 의미(Sinn)와 의의(Bedeutung) 개념을 탐구한다. 하이데거의 전기 사유는 존재의 의미를 철학적 주제로 삼았다. 이 때 의미는 의의와 구분되는데, 특히 의미와 의의의 구분은 하이데거의 초기 연구에서부터 『존재와 시간』에 이르는 철학적 발전 과정에서 계속 이어져 왔다. 본 연구는 『존재와 시간』에서 의의 개념, 의미 개념, 그리고 이 둘의 관계를 해명하는 데 중점을 두었다. 의미에 대한 해석에 있어서는 의미의 발생적이며 구조적인 특징을 중심으로 새롭게 해석했으며, 의미와 의의 전체, 유의미성의 관계에 대한 보다 세밀한 논의를 진행시켰다. 이를 통해서 의미와 의의, 그리고 낱말과 언어에 이르는 전체적인 과정이 보다 명료하게 해명되었다. 이러한 논의는 하이데거의 언어 사유뿐 아니라 그의 전체 철학 체계를 이해하는 데 중요한 기초를 제공한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study explores the concepts of Sinn (meaning) and Bedeutung (significance), which are central themes in Martin Heidegger’s Being and Time. Heidegger’s early thought established the meaning of being as a philosophical subject. In this context, Sinn (meaning) is distinguished from Bedeutung (significance), and this distinction remains central throughout Heidegger’s philosophical development, from his early studies to Being and Time. This research focuses on clarifying the concepts of significance and meaning, as well as their relationship in Being and Time. In interpreting Sinn, this study adopts a novel approach that emphasizes its generative and structural characteristics, facilitating a more nuanced discussion on the relationship between Sinn and Bedeutung, as well as their connection to meaningfulness (Bedeutsamkeit). Through this discussion, the overarching processes linking meaning, significance, and language are elucidated more clearly. These considerations provide a foundational framework not only for understanding Heidegger’s linguistic philosophy but also for grasping the structure of his broader philosophical system.
