어머니의 반응유형이 유아의 정서조절능력에 미치는 영향 : 유아의 부정적 정서 중심으로 = A research on effects of mothers’ reactions on children’s emotional regulation skills–focused on the children’s negative emotions

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 유아의 부정적 정서에 대한 어머니의 반응유형과 유아의 부정적 정서표현에 대한 어머니의 반응유형이 유아의 정서조절능력과 상관관계가 있는지를 구명하고, 상관관계를 토대로 어머니의 반응유형이 유아의 정서조절능력에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 알아보는 데 목적을 두고 있다. 연구대상은 경기도에 위치한 사립유치원에 재원 중인 만 3~5세 유아를 양육하는 어머니와 담임교사 173쌍이며, 이들을 대상으로 설문지 조사를 실시하였다. 수집된 자료는 연구문제에 따라 상관분석, 다중회귀분석을 실시하였다. 주요 연구결과로는 첫째, 유아의 부정적 정서표현에 대한 어머니의 반응유형은 지지적반응과, 비지지적 반응 중 지지적 반응이 더 높게 나타났다. 둘째, 유아의 부정적 정서표현에 대한 어머니의 반응유형이 유아의 자기조절능력에 높은 수준의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타나 상관관계가 증명되었으나, 유아의 타인조절능력과는 상관관계가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구를 통해 어머니의 반응유형이 유아의 올바른 정서조절능력을 발달시키는데 중요한 요인임이 확인되었다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study investigated the differences of mothers’ reaction styles to young children’s negative emotional expressions according to the demographic variables and young children’s emotional regulation abilities. The purpose of this study was to understand the relationship between mothers’ reaction styles to young children’s negative emotional expressions and their children’s emotional regulation abilities, and also examined the influences of mothers’ reaction styles on their children’s emotional regulation abilities. Subjects of this study were 173 mothers of 3~5-year-old children and their teachers of private early childhood educational institutions in Gyeonggi-Do. Revised versions of ‘Scales of mothers’ reaction styles to the young children’s negative emotions’ and ‘Scales of young children’s emotional regulation abilities’ were used for the research. Data were analyzed by correlation analysis, and hierarchical analysis of multiple regression. The results suggests that mothers’ reaction styles play an important role in development of young children’s emotional regulation abilities.
