      Driving the Future of Autonomous Electric Vehicles in Korea: Strategic Foresight, Technology, and Innovation Cluster

      This study comprehensively examines future scenarios through analysis of technology, industry development trends, and issues of autonomous electric vehicles based on the convergence of transportation and IT industries. It sets a strategic direction for developing autonomous electric vehicle technology. Scenario planning can respond to future uncertainties and prepare for multiple possible futures. In addition, through these scenario-based plans, regions can also prepare for the future. To this end, this study analyzed various issues along with the technology and industry trends of autonomous electric vehicles and set various future scenarios through scenario planning, a foresight technique. The scenarios reflect the development potential of autonomous electric vehicle technology and the creation of innovation ecosystems within innovation clusters. By integrating the key aspects of technology development and creating an innovation ecosystem, the study established a strategic direction for advancing autonomous electric vehicle technology. The first strategic direction is to set a vision for building an innovation cluster for autonomous electric vehicle technology development. The second strategic direction is to build a Daedeok R&D Special Zone(Daedeok Innopolis) autonomous electric vehicle demonstration complex to complete the R&D-demonstration-commercialization system. The third strategic direction is strengthening the startup ecosystem related to autonomous electric vehicle technology development. These strategic directions will serve as a roadmap for the successful development and commercialization of autonomous electric vehicles. Through scenario planning, this study analyzes the growth potential of autonomous electric vehicle technology and provides valuable strategic insights for policymakers and businesses. To highlight the relevance of these findings for policymakers and industry stakeholders, the implications of these findings are discussed, as well as their importance in advancing autonomous electric vehicle solutions. By systematically presenting these strategic directions, the paper offers a concise yet comprehensive roadmap that can guide the future of autonomous electric vehicles in Korea.
