인포메이션 그래픽 관점에서 본 세계 지하철노선도의 유형에 관한 연구 = A study on the subway map type of the world context to information graphics

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Traffic problem was always resided in centric position of modern metropolitan. Traffic jam, hard to parking and air pollution caused by rapid growth of cars had reached extreme status gearing with environmental problems called earth warming. As this presence, development and enlargement of public traffic vehicles which substitute against cars have more and more important issues. Subway has gotten more and more reliable position as public trafficvehicle. Subway has good merit on transporting so many commuters in quick and ease in spite long time period and high cost on construction. Now, development of subway becoming new urban culture code not merely commuting transportation roles. As the progress of subway, the inside sign system and routing map are recognized as important information graphics. As commuting method of all the categories of human beings, the subway map should be get information on starting and destination station to everybody, too. Among them, The London subway routing map became epochal turning point of design and one of icons of London at presence.After that, metropolitans as New York, Paris, Berlin and Tokyo constructed subway like lacing and as the result each city made excellent routing map representing its unique character. As complex subway routing as importance of subway routing map, over viewing the unique character design of metropolitan city of the world, groping new direction of design of Seoul subway routing map.
