Load-displacement relationships in three point bending fracture specimen and in centre cracked sheet fracture specimen are derived by using linear elastic fracture mechanics. And above results are compared with numerical solutions by finite element method.
In three point bending fracture specimen, the difference between the solution by linear elastic fracture mechanics and the numerical solution by F.E.M. is within 3%. But in centre cracked sheet fracture specimen the difference is within 6%.
