This study aimed to analyze the operation of the Career Exploration Credit System and explore ways to revitalize the Career Exploration Credit System as a model for university career education, focusing on the Career Exploration Credit System that reflects the needs of the changing times in higher education. To this end, this study developed a framework for analyzing the operation of Career Exploration Credit System, and analyzed the operation of Career Exploration Credit System in terms of purpose and strategy, implementation system, operating procedures, operational performance, and management according to the analysis framework. In addition, targeted group interviews were conducted with those in charge of the Career Exploration Credit System to understand the operation of the program at the university level. As a result of the analysis, we found that the purpose of Career Exploration Credit System can be categorized into two types: those that focus on upgrading the education system and those that focus on developing student competencies, and we found distinctive features in terms of operating procedures, operating performance, and management. In order to revitalize the Career Exploration Credit System as a university career education model, the study drew implications such as devising various operating models, linking and expanding resources within universities, establishing instructor roles and support systems, and scaling up operational performance, and made policy recommendations to implement them.
