The Effect of Pre-retirement Program on Conglomerate The purpose of this study was to verify the effects of the pre-retirement program on conglomerate production worker's retirement expectations, anxiety and preparations for retirement.
The hypotheses in this study were as follows;
1. The Pre-retirement program will have positive effect on retirement expectations for conglomerate production worker.
1-1. The Pre-retirement program will reduce 'Expectation for Rest' among the retirement expectations for conglomerate production worker.
1-2. The Pre-retirement program will increase 'Expectation for Continuing' among the retirement expectations for conglomerate production worker.
1-3. The Pre-retirement program will increase 'Expectation for Completion of Career' among the retirement expectations for conglomerate production worker.
1-4. The Pre-retirement program will increase 'Expectation for New beginning' among the retirement expectations for conglomerate production worker.
1-5. The Pre-retirement program will reduce 'Expectation for Imposed frustration' among the retirement expectations for conglomerate production worker.
2. The Pre-retirement program will mitigate the level of anxiety for retirement for conglomerate production worker.
3. The Pre-retirement program will improve the preparations for retirement for conglomerate production worker.
The subjects of this study were 50 prospective retirees of 'A' company who are all production workers. Among them, 25 prospective retirees were assigned to the experimental group and another 25 prospective retirees were assigned to the control group.
In a separate incident, the survey of demand for Pre-retirement program was taken into 219 from same company.
The scales of Retirement Expectations translated and reorganized by Lee, Jung Ui, Anxiety for retirement translated and reorganized by Kim, Hyang Un and Preparation for retirement developed by Kim, Nam suk were used as measuring tools in this study.
To verify the hypotheses, each of the data was analyzed by the methods of ANCOVA with covariance variable, pre-test scores employing SPSS/WIN version 14.0. A statistical significance level for hypothesis testing was set at .05.
The conclusions of this study are as follows:
First, this study shows the Pre-retirement program doesn't have positive effect on overall retirement expectations except "Expectation for Continuing'. Providing in detail,
