MBTI 성격유형과 회화표현의 상관성 연구 - 인천가톨릭대 회화과 학생을 중심으로 - = Relationship between the MBTI Test and Painting Expression - Focusing on students of Painting Department at Incheon Catholic University -

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 연구는 인천가톨릭대학 회화과 학생들을 표본으로 MBTI의 성격 유형 중에 데이비드케어시(David West Keirsey)1)의 이론에 의거하여 디오니소스(예술가) 기질에 해당하는 유형을 중심으로 개인선호도 설문조사를 하고, 조사를 한 학생들의 졸업작품을 분석하여, 이들의 MBTI 성격유형과 회화표현과의 관계를 분석하였다. 데이비드 케어시의 성격유형론은 예술 창작과 표현이 자아실현의 매개체에 해당한다고 하는 칼 융(Carl Gustav Jung)2)의 성격유형 이론을 기반으로 마이어스(Isabel B. Myers)와 브릭스(Katherine C. Briggs)가 개발한 MBTI 성격유형 검사를 발전시킨 분류 방법이다.
연구 방법은 2016년 인천가톨릭대학 회화과 학생들을 대상으로 MBTI 성격유형 중에 데이비드 케어시의 예술가(디오니소스) 기질에 해당되는 SP(ISTP, ESTP, ISFP, ESFP) 유형을 중심으로 개인선호도 설문조사를 하였다. 회화작품 성향분석은 개인선호도 설문조사자들 중에 2019년 초까지 4년간의 졸업생들의 졸업 작품들을 중심으로 비교 분석하였다. 회화작품 성향분석 방법은 졸업 작품으로 제출한 그림을 중간값 한 색상으로 도출한 후 그 색상을 가산혼합인 빛의 삼원색 빨강(RED), 녹색(GREEN), 파랑(BLUE)의 색상숫자로 변환했다. 이를 명도 채도와 색상균형, 정형과 비정형, 대비, 평면적 유형과 입체적 유형으로 나누어 MBTI 성격유형과 비교분석 했다. MBTI의 성격유형과 개인선호도 설문조사, 회화작품 성향분석 간에는 다음과 같은 분석 결과가 도출되었다.
조사대상 학생 구성비율은 F-감정형의 학생들이 다수, T-사고형 학생들이 소수로 구성되어 있으며 그중 IT-내향사고형이 가장 적은 MTBI 성격유형으로 구분되었다. E-외향형이 고명도 채도 선호경향을 가지고 있으며 I-내향형이 상대적으로 저명도 채도선호 경향을 가지고 있다. F-감정형이 작품에 강한 대비와 곡선(비정형)을, T-사고형이 약한 대비와 직선(정형)을 선호하는 경향성을 가지고 있다. ET-외향사고형과 IT-내향사고형이 반대 경향을 가지고 있으며 ET-외향사고형은 표현적 유형 난색 선호경향을 IT-내향사고형이 평면적유형, 한색선호 경향성을 가지고 있다.
MBTI 성격유형을 발전시킨 데이비드 케어시(David West Keirsey) 기질이론을 바탕으로 한 개인선호도 설문조사, 회화작품 성향분석은 체계적이고 창의적인 미술교육 지표로서 활용 될 수 있다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study is about the relationship between personality type and painting expression using the sample of students in the Painting Department of the Catholic University of Incheon by analyzing their graduation works, who participated personal preference questionnaires focusing on the types of Dionysus (artist) temperament based on Keirsey's theory among the personality types of MBTI, which classifies the MBTI personality type into four types.
The research is conducted on students in 2019, based on the type of SP (ISTP, ESTP, ISFP, ESFP) temperament. The tendency of the painting work was analyzed through personal preference questionnaires and their graduation works for four years until early 2019. To analysis student’s painting work tendency, colors of graduation works were converted into a representative color in category of RED GREEN BLUE. This was compared with MBTI statistics by dividing them into brightness/saturation and color balance, stereotyped and atypical, contrast, plane type and stereoscopic type. The following analysis was to compare the results of MBTI's and questionnaire with their color tendency.
The result of this study through MBTI personality type and the color tendency of the graduation works can be different according to the ideology and method of art education. However, art education and creative activities can be performed based on students' preference, and this can be used as an indicator of art education.
