Acoustic noise is one of the pressing problems in our expanding city as it effects mental and physical health to people nearby. Many researchers have made an attempt to invent applications to eliminate the noise and one of these applications is active noise control. However, the environment is not always linear and time-invariant. This makes some updating algorithms not efficient enough to cancel all unwanted sounds.
In this paper, therefore, we propose active noise control using particle filter algorithm for nonlinear and time-varying environment. The simulation results show that particle filter is a truly exceptional algorithm in reducing undesired sound compared with LMS and RLS algorithms.
