THE first regatta for the season of the Royal Northern Yacht Club took place at Dunoon, on Tuesday, July 27. At a quarter past one, the signal was given for the competing craft to bring to, and prepare to start for the Dunoon tureen of 50 guineas value, which was won last year by Sir Robert Gore Booth's cutter, The Gleam, of 30 tons. By the regulations it is stipulated that the prize is to be sailed for annually by yachts of the club, of any tonnage, and to become the property of a member winning it with his own yacht two successive years.
