The field of studies of black populations in Mexico is scarce. However, in recent years, research on it has increased, offering a field of study that has been little explored and, in some extent, problematic in many ways. This work aims to examine and shed light on one of the issues that have to do with the black population in Mexico: Black Feminist Movements. To achieve this, we will employ the concept of intersectionality as a robust theoretical framework. This research, with its approach, explores the African presence in Mexico and tells the story of how the Afro-feminist movements were born in that country and their trajectory. It also discusses the values of these movements and the contributions from their political practices to the topic of intersectionality. At the same time, this research explores the ideals, particularities, functioning, intersections, potentials, and a scope of this movement in Mexico and its achievements.
