아렌트(H. Arendt) "탄생성"의 교육학적 수용 -마스켈라인(J. Masschelein)의 논의를 중심으로 = Pedagogical Reception of "Natality" by Hannah Arendt according to the Approach by Jan Masschelein

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본고는 한나 아렌트의 ``탄생성’이 교육학과 맺는 관련을 마스켈라인의 교육학적 수용의 예를 통해 고찰하고 있다. "인간은 탄생적 존재"라는 실존적.사회적 사실성에 근거하여 아렌트는 인간의 탄생을 생물학적 탄생(제 1의 탄생)과 사회적 탄생(제 2의 탄생)으로 구분하는데, 그 의미를 마스켈라인은 교육학적 시각에서 해석해 내고 있다. 우리가 마스켈라인에게서 발견하게 되는 탄생성의 교육학적 범주들은 가) 행위의 전제로서 개별자의 유일성 및 이를 기반으로 하는 세계의 역설적 다원성, 나) 행위의 구조로서 대화적 관계성 및 이로부터 도출되는 책임성, 다) 기존성의 반복이 아닌 새로움의 생성기제로서 우연성, 라) 교육의 재개념화와 새로운 교육인간학적 규정등이다. 특히 "아동의 실재는 아직-말할수-행위할수-없음이 아니라 새로운-행위함과-새로운-말함이다"라는 교육인간학적 발견에 근거하여 그가 제안하는 교육적 인간의 새로운 규정, 즉 "인간은 만들어지는 것이 아니라 태어나는 것이다", 그리고 이에 따라 "교육은 만듦.생산이 아니라 탄생에 대한 대답"이라는 새로운 교육 정의는 전통적 교육학의 그것과 유의미한 대조를 이루고 있다는 점을 현대 교육학은 진지한 고려의 대상으로 삼을 필요가 있다. 아울러 본고에서는 아렌트가 교육의 역할로 제안하고 있는 "새로움의 보전"이 갖는 역설적 성격에 관하여도 간략히 언급되고 있다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This article attempts to show an example of pedagogical reception of `Natality` by Hannah Arendt according to the approach by Jan Masschelein. Based on the existential and social factuality that human being is a being of Natality, Arendt differntiates Natality into the biological one (the first birth) and the social one (the second birth), the meaning of which is the object of interpretation for Masschelein from the pedagogical perspective. Pedagogical categories of Natality seen in the works by Masschelein are A) singularity of an individual and the "paradoxical plurality" as premises of action, B) dialogical relationship as a structure of action and the responsibility which comes from the dialogical relationship (Verantwortung from Antwort, namely, responsibility from the answer), C) contingency as a critical moment for a genealogy of the new, D) revision of the concept of education and redefinition of the pedagogical anthropology. The argument of Masschelein that "education is answer to the factuality of Natality" and "human being is born, but is not made or produced" needs to be taken more seriously into consideration in that it shows a meaningful contrast to the traditional concepts of modern pedagogy. Additionally, this article investigates the pedagogical-practical implication of the so called "preserving newness" as suggested in the "Crisis of Education" by Arendt based on the "paradox of the Natality", though it has not been mentioned in the works by Masschelein.
