다양한 수준에서의 사회적 지지가 시설 청소년의 학교적응에 미치는 영향 = The Effect of Social Support of Various Levels on School Adjustment of Adolescents in Institutional Care

국문 초록 (Abstract)

가정환경이 안정되지 않은 청소년에게 제공되는 주요한 대리적 서비스의 하나는 시설보호인데, 시
설 청소년에게는 학교적응을 잘하는 것이 무엇보다도 중요하다. 다양한 요인들 중에서 사회적 지지는
청소년이 학교에 적응하는 데 긍정적으로 영향을 미치는 요인으로 널리 알려져 있는데, 일반 청소년
에 비해서 시설 청소년은 시설과 연관된 사회적 지지원을 추가로 지니고 있다. 그러나 그동안의 경우,
우리나라에서는 시설 청소년에 대해서 모든 수준에 근거한 사회적 지지가 학교적응에 미치는 영향을
실증적으로 살펴본 적이 없다. 이런 맥락에서 본 연구에서는 전국에 위치한 아동양육시설에서 생활하
는 중․고등학교 학생을 대상자로 선정해서 다양한 수준에 따른 사회적 지지 형태가 학교적응에 어
떻게 영향을 미치는지를 조사하였다. 본 연구에서 살펴본 결과, 생활지도원 지지, 친구 지지, 후원
자․봉사자 지지는 시설 청소년의 학교적응에 통계적으로 유의미하게 영향을 미치는 변수로 나타났
다. 그리고 시설 청소년의 학교적응을 설명하는 영향력은 생활지도원 지지, 친구 지지, 후원자․봉사
자 지지의 순으로 나타났다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The institutional care has remained one of major substitute services for adolescents with unstable family
environment. It is particularly important for institutionalized adolescents to adjust to their schools in a
successful way. Among various factors, social support has been widely recognized as a positive factor for
school adjustment. Yet, compared to the general adolescents, those in institutional care possess additional
institution-related sources of social support. Thus far, however, no research has attempted to delve into the
influence of social support types of all levels on their school adjustment. Hence this study endeavored to
ascertain the effect of social support of various levels on school adjustment of middle/high-school students
in institutional care. According to the results of this study, support by teachers in institutions, peer support,
and sponsors support were statistically significant determinants of school adjustment. The strongest
determinant of their school adjustment was support by teachers in institutions, followed by peer support and
sponsors support.
