WE this week present our readers with the portrait of General Pelissier, the hero of the Algerine war. The general is especially remarkable for his energy, which does not greatly obtain among the allied commanders in the Crimea. Colonel Pelissier was one of the favourites of Marshal Besugeaud, the last of the marshals of the Emperor Napoleon I. The marshal perceived the talent of Pelissier, and attached him to his staff, till he was appointed to the command of a division employed in the war with Algeria.
