(1) The first phase (1921-1931): His short stories in this period express the problem of the destitute people in the colonial period. Main works of this period art "Cold Night" (1921), "A Rikishapuller" (1925), "Homicide" (1925), and "rood of a Dog" (1927).
(2) The second phase (1995-1943): His works of this period treat the problems of love--especially disappointed love in 1930's. Main works are "The Quest of the Detached Room" (1935), "The Madam of Anemone Tea-room" (1996), and "An Ugly Women" (1996).
(3) The third phase (1946-1958): The peculiarity of his works in this period is his keen sense of history and critical mind of the society and social reality. Main works are "A Professor and a Profiteer." (1948), "25 Years" (1960), and "One Year after Liberation from Japan" (1959).
