The purpose of this study is to analyse the syntactic characteristics of Korean auxiliary verbs. The syntactic phenomena of auxiliary verb was studied to be compared with the Compound Verb and syntactic composed verbal phrase which were 'verb+verb' in Korean predicates.

1. Auxiliary verbs cannot be used in. isolation and therefore play their roles only after a preceeding verb(main verb).
2. In composing auxiliary verb, there must not be inserted with any other sentence components or suffix '-Seo(서)' between main verb and auxiliary verb.
3. Pro-form for auxiliary verb cannot be used without main verb separately. But Pro-form for main verb can be used.
4. In the sentence having auxiliary verb construction, both the main verb and auxiliary verb can be omitted in all but may not be omitted by each to each separately.
