This study was carried out to investigate the prevalence of antibody against Toxoplasma gondii in the dog of Kangwon area by Indirect Fluorescent Antibody Test (IFAT).
A total of 311 serum samples collected from 162 heads of sentry raising dog and 149 heads of house raising dog were tested.
The results obtained were summarized as follows ;
1. Among the serum sample of 311 heads of the dog, 15 samples (4.8%) were positive.
2. Out of the 15 heads showed positive, 5 heads (3.1%) in the sentry dog and 10 heads (6.7%) in the house raising dog were detected positive, respectively.
3. In the sex, 7 heads (4.3%) out of 163 female dogs and 8 heads (5.4%) out of 148 male dogs were positive.
However, there was no significant differences between the male and the female.
4. The positive rate of Toxoplasma antibody in dogs raising in Kangwon area appeared to be relatively low.
