      본 연구는 천년초 처치가 성장기 흰쥐의 수영운동에 따른 골소실 억제에 어떠한 효과가 있는지에 대해 연구하였다. 32마리의 수컷 SD 쥐를 고지방식이 대조군(n=8), 고지방식이 운동군(n=8), 5% ...

      본 연구는 천년초 처치가 성장기 흰쥐의 수영운동에 따른 골소실 억제에 어떠한 효과가 있는지에 대해 연구하였다. 32마리의 수컷 SD 쥐를 고지방식이 대조군(n=8), 고지방식이 운동군(n=8), 5% 천년초 처치 대조군(n=8), 5% 천년초 처치 운동군(n=8)으로 무선 배정하였다. 본 연구에서 사용한 고지방 식이의 조성은 탄수화물 48%, 지방 20% 및 단백질 20%로서 AIN-76G를 기준으로 하여 각각 치환하여 제조하였으며, 천년초 식이는 고지방식이의 조성에서 각각 탄수화물, 지방, 단백질 및 식이섬유를 치환하여 제조하였다. 연구결과, 혈청 오스테오칼신 농도는 천년초 처치군이 고지방식이군에 비해 유의하게 높은 것으로 나타났으며, 혈청 부갑상선호르몬 농도는 OE군이 HE군에 비해 유의하게 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 대퇴골의 BMC와 BMD는 HE군이 HS군에 비해 유의하게 낮은 것으로 나타났으며, 대퇴골과 경골의 BMC 및 BMD는 OE군이 HE군에 비해 유의하게 높은 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 상완골의 BMD와 경골의 파단강도는 OE군이 HE군에 비해 각각 유의하게 높은 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 본 연구의 결과를 종합해보면 성장기 흰쥐에게 천년초의 처치는 부갑상선호르몬 분비의 억제와 오스테오칼신 농도를 증가시킴으로써 BMD와 BMC를 증가시켜 수영운동에 의한 골소실 예방에 긍정적인 효과가 있음을 시사하였다.
