This research analyzes formative characteristics depicted in paintings of Alphonse Mucha, an artist that well-expressed paintings from Art Nouveau age. Using the characteristics of famous pieces such as fanciness, liquidity of flowers and close curves, and colors in the painting, as motifs, 6 designs - <Creative>, <Hair by night>, and <Up-style> - were produced. Design (I) and (II) took paintings that represent fanciness, among all formative characteristics, as a motif and expressed mysterious and elegance of women through unbalanced curves and asymmetric and geometric lines. Design (III) and (IV) took dynamic as a motif and expressed lovely and shy girl using close curves and floating waves. Design (V) and (VI) took famous artworks that represent picturesque qualities as motifs and expressed charm of a mature woman through a pastel gradation. By applying art paintings to hair designs and directly expressing them on mannequins, the beauty industry was brought near to the bigger synthetic art, and its extensive usefulness was proven.
