This research conducts high school students' reading life for more progressed direction and prepare the basis of abundant human nature groping systematic and efficient reading education program grasping actual conditions and present condition of high school student reading education. Therefore, this research has following purpose. First, grasp high school student's reading form and reading education actual conditions and grope various reading education program that improve problem. Second, propose studying method to be efficient and is own leading that use school library. Third, establish librarian teacher's role and position in reading education. Choose Pusan city general high school 4 opening of a schools and executed question investigation to a freshman 50 people, junior 50 people total 400 students to each school. Question result, was construed that many students are recognizing about necessity of reading but do not read much actually. In form that the reason all of boy student girl students do not have time or reading is not habit, was evading reading and high school must book aids in island selection, but was dominating high ratio opinion that contents are difficult. On the whole, was expose that reading education is seldom link activity and reading appreciation contest, reading debate participation experience after reading being consisting by teacher of native language mainly. Also, students desired that the library is used by not space of reading education but studying space and culture space. This research wishes to propose desirable direction of reading education by four as follows. 1. Plan establishment of reading education. 2. Reading education that use school library 3. Reading education through off-line program. 4. Reading education through on-line program. Because reading education program that propose in this research stimulate students' reading interest, creative and developed reading ability is expected and in the library continuous and systematic link activity repletion being studied reading culture settle.
