극장 음향 디지털회로 구성에 관한 연구 : 디지털/아날로그 혼용 멀티케이블의 구성을 중심으로 = A study on the theater digital sound circuit configuration

국문 초록 (Abstract)

공연예술은 공연장, 즉 무대와 객석에서의 공연자와 관객의 상호작용으로 이루어지는 특징을 갖고 있다. 현대 극장의 형태는 정통 오페라 극장,클래식 전용 콘서트홀 형태에서 다목적 극장, 뮤지컬 전용 극장, 대중음악 전용 극장, 특정 공연 전용관, 가변무대형 공연장 등 다양한 형태로 발전하고 있다. 현대 공연의 특징 중 대표적인 것은 무대에서 많은 장치를 사용하여 공연자의 표현이 관객에게 전달되게 되는데 그 중 소리를 통한 메시지와 상황 전달의 중요성과 비중이 점점 커지고 있으며 현대 공연에서 전기음향은 중요한 요소의 하나로 자리 잡게 되었다. 이러한 현상은 인류의 기술이 나날이 발전하면서 초대 극장의 무대에서 이루어지는 효과들을 비약적으로 발전시켜왔으며 그 중 무대음향의 발전은 단순한 대사 전달과 커뮤니케이션 수단으로부터 그 영역의 한계를 뛰어넘어 진보적 기술을 기반으로 많은 관객들을 동시에 공연관람을 가능케 했으며 공연자의 상황과 극, 음악의 세밀한 표현요소를 발전시키는 결과를 가져오기도 했다. 이러한 현상은 현재 일반적인 공연자와 관객의 거리가 시간과 공간을 달리하는 방송의 그것과는 다른, 공연자와 관객이 하나의 느낌을 더욱 강렬히 공유할 수 있는 공연이란 장르를 비약적으로 발전시킨 것이다. 이러한 음향적 역할은 현대 공연 예술에 있어서 매우 중요한 위치를 차지하고 있으며 2000년대에 들어서는 디지털 믹싱 콘솔을 사용하여 공연을 진행하는 비중이 높아짐에 따라 디지털 음향회로의 구성방식은 많은 포맷으로 발전되어 지고 있으며 더욱 많은 정보와 진보된 기술을 요구하고 있다.
따라서 공연장의 공간과 공연장의 음향적 특징에 따라 음향기기의 구성은 달라지며 그 중 회로의 구성에 따라 공연의 음향적 장비의 선택과 음향 디자인이 달라지고 있다. 특히 음향회로의 구성은 현대 공연 구성 중 공연자와 음향감독으로부터 하여금 공연제작 요건에서 중요한 요소로서 나타나고 있지만 국내 공연장의 회로 구성 방식이 극장마다 상이하고 아날로그 회로 중심이며 일부 극장의 음향적 회로 구성은 아날로그 회로 조차도 다소 미흡한 실정이다.
이에 본 연구에서는 공간 및 구조적인 측면에서 디지털 회로구성에 대하여 이해하고 극장 디지털 음향회로 시스템의 연구를 통해 회로 구성에 대하여 고찰하고자 한다.

연구의 결과를 정리하면 다음과 같다.

첫째, 현대 극장은 아날로그기기와 디지털기기가 공존하는 시기로 극장의 회로 구성은 아날로그회로와 디지털회로가 공존하여야 한다.

둘째, 극장 음향회로 시스템은 앞으로의 새로운 포맷의 출현에 대비하여 구성하여야 한다.

셋째, 두 개 극장의 음향회로시스템에 관한 문제점을 바탕으로 이에 따른 개선방안을 제시하였다.

공연장의 음향회로의 구성은 회로의 숫자와 구성에 따라 공연의 성사 여부까지도 좌우할 수 있고 공연의 형식을 바꿀 수 있는 중요한 요소이다. 극장이 모든 포맷의 회로를 구비하고 있을 수는 없지만 공연이 날로 대형화 되어지고 복잡한 구성을 갖는 현 시점에서 극장의 회로 구성이야말로 극장 평가에 가장 중요한 요소라 하지 않을 수 없다. 특히 현대의 많은 극장의 양식은 다목적 공연장의 형태로 지어지면서 많은 요소들의 결합으로 극장의 음향적 요소들도 그에 따른 다목적, 다중 시설의 요소들이 요구되어지고 있지만 많은 공연장들이 지자체에 속해 있는 점, 그에 따른 예산과 건축 당시의 음향전문가 부재 등으로 극장음향시설의 수준은 각 극장마다 차이를 보이고 있어 현재 우리나라 극장의 음향회로 구성의 중요성은 매우 중요한 문제라 할 수 있다.
공연을 구성하고 무대에 올림에 있어 공연장 자체가 갖는 의미는 매우 크다 할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 하루가 다르게 빠르게 변화하는 공연음향환경에서 어떻게 극장회로를 구성하고 활용하는가에 대해서 연구하고자 한다.

Performing arts has the characteristics of interaction between performer in Stage and Guest in auditorium.
Theater evolves from conventional opera house and classic dedicated concert hall to multipurpose hall, musical dedicated hall, Popular music hall, and adjustable stage with various form.
The biggest feature of modern performing arts is to express perform to audience with lots of stage devices. Among them message delivery with sound is getting important, and this electro-acoustics became one of the key factor of modern performing arts.
This kind of phenomenon developed various effects on stage with human being's arts. The development of stage sound make beyond the status of simple dialogue delivering and communication, and make people watch performing. Furthermore, it develops detailed expression and performer's circumstances.
It upbuild the genre of "Show" drastically which can share one single sense of kinship between Performer and audience.
It is different from broadcasting in terms of divide between performer and audience.
This important acoustic role is very important in Modern performing arts. Since 2000, performing with Digital mixing console and increasing , acoustic circuit is developing in various format to require more information and advanced technology.
The composition of sound system varies depending space and acoustic feature of the stage, and design of sound and selection of
acoustic device is changing with the composition of sound circuit. Especially the organization of sound circuit is the important in making performance for performer and sound director. However, the circuit is different by theatre and more focused on analog system. Some does not have even analog circuit for sound.
The object of this report is to understand digital sound circuit in terms of space and structure, and to study theatre digital sound circuit.
The result is as below.

First, Modern theatre is the space sharing analog and digital sound circuit, and the circuit of the theatre need have both of them.
Second, theatre sound system is prepared for the future sound format.

Third, It suggested improvement method based on two different sound system issue.

The structure of sound system is critical part to change performance type and to accomplish it based on the number of system and organization.
Theatre cannnot have all the system for various format, but the sound system in theatre is the most important point to evaluate theatre with performance enlargement and complexity.
Nowadays lots of theatre is built for multipurpose, and it requires various sound system due to complicated elements.
But many theatre belongs to local government, and theatre sound system level varies by theatre due to lack of sound specialist and sound invest budget when built. So, now the importance of sound circuit is very important.
"Stage" for performacne has lots of meaning. This studies show how to consist theatre sound systems and use it under fast changing performance sound environment.
