Through global crises, lifelong education has become necessary to think about new initiatives for community coexistence. So, this study focused on volunteering. Volunteering is a self-directed activity for neighbors and communities, and learning is possible through its experience. However, studies so far have dealt volunteering and lifelong education seperately. Therefore, this study analyzed the contents after conducting in-depth interviews with adult volunteers to explore the lifelong educational implications of volunteering. The results analyzed are as follows. First, adult volunteering activities are mainly characterized by the self-directed nature of adult learning, and experiential learning is possible. Second, adult volunteering activities become a learning to fill the gap between oneself and the competency required by volunteer work. Third, adult volunteering activities form a learning network by interacting through volunteering. Fourth, adult volunteering activities grow oneself through introspection, which is a core of adult learning. This study was able to identify the lifelong educational significance and value of adult volunteering activities as above.
