      다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The case of a 38 year-old single black male who suffers from primary idiopathic hypoparathyroidism with intracranial calcification, epileptic seizure, schizophrenia like psychosis of epilepsy, mild dementia, choreoathetoid movements, substance abuse, and who committed criminal violence, rape, is described. He had previously been diagnosed with schizophrenia, chronic schizophrenia with epilepsy, and Fahr s syndrome, but the diagnosis of Fahr s syndrome was later changed to primary idiopathic hypoparathyroidism. The close correlation between his criminal violence and neuropsychiatric disorders, including epilepsy, and epileptic psychosis, as well as his substance abuse, is discussed. intracranial calcification, epileptic seizure, schizophrenia-like psychosis of epilepsy,2 mild dementia, choreoathetoid movements, paranoid delusion, and cannabis abuse in a subject who committed criminal violence. There have been many reports regarding the correlation between episodic violent behaviors and epileptic seizures,3-6 or substance abuse, particularly in the case of marijuana,7 but there have been few reports regarding the correlation between epileptic seizure with cannabis abuse and criminal violence. Furthermore, to the best of my knowledge, the present case report is the first to document the correlation between a neuropsychiatric disorder, viz. epileptic psychosis8 with primary idiopathic hypoparathyroidism and criminal violence, rape.
