Characteristics of sediment was studied on Angol tidal flat, Chinhae Bay, the southern coast of Korea, for one year from March 1998. Samples were collected seasonally at each station. Temperature change of sea water and sediment was very similar. And it was generally high in summer, but was low in winter. Salinity change of sea water and sediment was very similar. And it was low in the rainy season of summer, but was high in winter. Mean grain size (Mz) was 0.289mm in the mid intertidal zone and that was 0.245mm in the low intertidal zone. Median grain size (Md) was 0.276mm in the mid intertidal zone and that was 0.289mm in the low intertidal zone. Therefor Angol tidal flat was silty-sand and content of silt-clay was increased gradually in the mid and low intertidal zone. It seems that increasing of mud content was due to reclamation for the construction of new harbor in Pusan.
