국가 정신건강 연구의 방향과 과제 -미국「National Research Action Plan」및「NIMH Strategic Plan」고찰을 중심으로- = Direction and Challenges of National-based Mental Health Research -Focused on the Study of 「National Research Action Plan」and 「NIMH Strategic Plan」-

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Objectives: This study was conducted to explore the mental health research plans of the United States and to apply its implications to Korea. Methods: We searched research materials regarding national-based research plans in the area of mental health in the United States and reviewed those. We summarized the contents and discussed applicable points to Korea. Results: We mainly focused on two reports,『National Research Action Plan, 2013』and 『NIMH Strategic Plan, 2008』. The first one was the national-based mental health research plan aimed only for military services. The second one was the strategic plan of the national institute of mental health called NIMH. These two reports let us think about its implications for Korea. Conclusion: By benchmarking the case of United States on mental health research plans, Korea will also need to set national-based plans for mental health research in the future. Furthermore, a national institute of mental health is needed in Korea as United States` NIMH in order to conduct mental health research systematically.
