한련초 추출물 함유 화장품이 분장용 화장품의 피부보호 효과 = The Skin-protecting Effects of Eclipta Prostrate L. Extract-containing Cosmetics in Special Makeup Products

This study aimed to investigate the skin-protecting effects of Eclipta prostrate extract-containing cosmetics in special makeup. For this, a total of 16 subjects were chosen and divided into two groups: control group treated by essence and cream without Eclipta prostrate (EP Group, 8 subjects) and experimental group treated by essence and cream with Eclipta prostrate (EP Group, 8 subjects). The EP groups were given an application essence and cream of containing Eclipta prostrate extract and then foundation for special makeup. Three hours later, the subjects double-washed their face and skin conditions were measured. The results found the following: According to an analysis of changes in sebum index, the C Group increased by 0.60% while the EP Group showed a significant decrease (by 37.36%) in terms of total sebum changes (p<.001). In terms of total porphyrin ratio changes, the C Group increased by 0.49% while a statistically significant drop (8.39%) was found in the EP Group (p<.01). Unlike the C Group, in moisture index, pH, melanin index, red spot index, pore index and skin tone (lightness, redness, yellowness), a significant skin-friendly decrease or increase was observed. Therefore, the EP Group showed a significant decline in sebum index only. The above results confirmed that Eclipta prostrate extract-containing cosmetics have a positive effect on the prevention in the use of special makeup foundation.
