<AbsText> CORRESPONDENCE in various papers from time to time has shown that there is a great deal of debate as to whether the chain of an otter comes from its fur or its nostrils. Generally speaking, most authorities are agreed that it comes, without doubt, from the latter, and yet, after some years of regular otter hunting and a good deal of thought on the subject I must confess that, although I am convinced the chain does not come from the fur, the explanation of it coming from the nostrils is not fully convincing in that it does not meet all the circumstances. </AbsText>
