국제 청소년 교류 프로그램 토론 활동 참여 수준이 세계시민의식에 미치는 영향: 다문화 역량의 매개효과 = Impact of Discussion Activity in International Youth Exchange Programs on Global Citizenship: Mediating Role of Multicultural Competence

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 국제 청소년 교류 프로그램 참여자의 토론 활동 참여 수준이 다문화 역량을 매개하여 세계시민의식에미치는 영향을 검증하기 위해 수행되었다. 이를 위해 프로그램에 참여한 청소년으로부터 사전, 사후 설문 자료를수집하였으며, 조사에 모두 응답한 총 41개국 75명의 자료를 분석 대상으로 선정하였다. 변수 간 상관관계를 확인한후 매개효과 분석을 실시하였으며, 매개효과의 강건성을 확인하기 위하여 민감도 분석을 추가로 진행하였다. 그결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 토론 활동 참여 수준과 세계시민의식 간의 관계에서 다문화 인식의 부분매개효과가 유의하였다.
둘째, 민감도 분석 결과 직접효과는 강건한 것으로 나타났으며, 간접효과는 누락된 교란변수에 민감한 것으로 나타났다.
이러한 결과를 바탕으로 본 연구의 의의와 제한점, 후속 연구에 대한 시사점을 도출하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study explored the impact of participation in discussion activities within international youth exchange programs on global citizenship, focusing on the mediating role of multicultural competence. We collected and analyzed data using responses from 75 participants across 41 countries who completed pre- and post-program surveys.
Correlation analysis was followed by mediation analysis. Sensitivity analysis was performed to assess the robustness of the mediation effect. The key findings are as follows. First, multicultural competence partially mediated the relationship between discussion activity and global citizenship. Second, sensitivity analysis showed that the direct effect was robust, while the indirect effect was sensitive to omitted confounders.
These findings provide insights into the role of discussion activities in fostering global citizenship. Finally, we discussed the implications, limitations, and directions for future research.
