상담사례 대화분석을 통한 자살유가족 목회돌봄 연구 = Research on Pastoral Care for Suicide Survivors(co-victims) through Conversation Analysis of a Counseling Case

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 연구자가 진행한 상담에서 진술한 내담자와 대화 내용을 질적연구의 한 갈래인 대화분석 방법론을 통해 분석하여 내담자들이 가지고 있는 외상의 의식적인 혹은 무의식적인 발현이 내담자가 진술하고 있는 대화 안에서 어떻게 발현되는지 그 객관적인 데이터를 얻고자 진행되었다. 총 62회기 상담 내용을 부부의 역할 변화표(Role-by-Time Matrix)로 구분하여 범례화 한 후, 각 범례에서 중요하게 여겨지는 부분들을 게일 제퍼슨(Gail Jefferson)의 필사 체계 상징화 방법론을 따라 코딩하였다. 이를 데이비드 실버만(David Silverman)과 존 헤리티지(John Heritage), 맥스웰 앳킨슨(J. Maxwell Atkinson)의 대화분석에 기초하여 분석하였다. 이러한 분석의 결과로 연구자는 내담자가 진술하는 언어 표현과 외상 사이의 상관관계에 따른 의미를 밝혀내고 외상의 의식적 혹은 무의식적 발현이 내담자의 언어 표현 안에 어떻게 담기는지를 특정하여 분석할 수 있었다.
연구를 통해 외상과 언어 표현이 상호작용하여 대화 방식의 표현 패턴을 형성하는 것을 확인함과 동시에 자살유가족을 위한 목회돌봄에 대한 방향을 가늠할 수 있었다. 특히 자살유가족을 지원할 수 있는 효과적인 전략으로서 첫째, 용어 사용의 재구성과 둘째, 건강한 신학적 확립이 무척 중요한 것임을 확인할 수 있었다. 따라서 단일 사례분석이라는 한계가 있음에도 자살유가족을 위한 목회돌봄의 방향과 실제 지원 전략의 방향이 어떠해야 하는지를 제안할 수 있었다는 점에서 그 공헌도가 큰 연구라 하겠다. 특히 무분별하게 사용하는 자살의 다른 표현인 ‘극단적 선택’을 ‘극단적 내몰림’으로 재규정함으로 자살유가족이 짊어져야 할 책임을 사회 전반이 함께 짊어져야 할 책임으로 인식을 전환 시키고, 신학적인 재해석을 통해 자살유가족이 갖는 죄책감을 감소시켜 그들을 신앙공동체 안으로 포용할 수 있는 근거를 마련했다는 점에서 유의미한 연구라 하겠다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study employed qualitative research methods, specifically conversation analysis, to examine how trauma-related conscious or unconscious expressions manifest in clients' dialogue during counseling sessions. Sixty-two counseling sessions were categorized using the Role-by-Time Matrix, and significant segments within each category were coded following Gail Jefferson’s transcription symbols. This analysis was conducted based on the principles of conversation analysis by David Silverman, John Heritage, and J. Maxwell Atkinson. The researcher identified and diagnosed how language expressions are connected to trauma and how they elicit responses.
This analysis revealed the significance of the relationship between language expressions and trauma, shedding light on how trauma-related conscious or unconscious manifestations are embedded within a client’s language expressions. This research confirmed that trauma and language expressions interact to form patterns in the communication style. Additionally, insights were gained into pastoral care for suicide survivors (co-victims). Notably, two effective strategies were identified: the reconstruction of terminology usage and the importance of establishing a healthy theological foundation. Despite the limitations of single-case analysis, this study contributed significantly by suggesting directions for pastoral care for suicide survivors and practical support strategies. In particular, by redefining the term ‘extreme choice’ (a different expression for suicide) as ‘extreme inducement,’ the study aimed to shift the responsibility from suicide survivors alone to society as a whole and provided a theological reinterpretation to reduce the guilt felt by the families, offering a basis for their inclusion within the faith community.
