유아용 북클럽 프로그램의 다문화 그림책 현황 분석: B 출판사 북클럽 그림책을 중심으로 = A Study on the Status of Multicultural Picture Books in the Early Childhood Book Club Program: Focusing on the Picture Books of the Book Club of B Publishing Company

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구에서는 유아용 북클럽 프로그램의 다문화 그림책 현황을 분석하기 위해 국내 유아용 그림책 출판사인 B 출판사의 북클럽 프로그램에 포함된 그림책 총 171권을 분석 대상으로 선정하였다. 또한, 171권 중 다문화에 관한 주제를 다루고 있거나 등장인물이 다인종인 그림책 11권의 내용에 대해 구체적으로 분석하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 먼저 전체 분석 대상 그림책 171권 중에서 11권, 단지 6.4%의 그림책만이 다문화에 관한 내용을 주제나 등장인물의 측면에서 직접적으로 포함하고 있었다. 다음으로 다문화 내용이 포함된 그림책 11권에서 이야기 진행자는 작가 또는 주인공 아동의 시각에 의한 경우로 구분되었다. 작가가 그 문화와 언어에 친숙한 내부인인 경우와 친숙하지 않은 외부인인 경우로도 구분되었다. 특정 문화가 사실적이고 정확하게 표현되어 있는지에 관한 분석 기준에 따라 내용 분석 대상 11권의 그림책을 살펴본 결과, 전반적으로 특정 문화에 관한 내용이 정확하게 묘사되어 있었다. 그러나 일부 그림책의 경우 세부적인 묘사가 풍부하게 제시되지 않았거나, 서로 다른 문화가 긍정적으로 묘사되지 않은 경우, 그리고 주인공이나 등장인물만이 특정 문화와 관련된 것으로 나타났다. 코로나19로 인해 유아용 그림책을 가정에서 배송받거나 온라인으로 이용하는 북클럽 프로그램이 최근 급성장하고 있는 시점에서 유아용 북클럽 프로그램의 다문화 그림책 현황을 분석하였다는 점에서 본 연구의 의의를 찾을 수 있다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

In this study, a total of 171 picture books included in the early childhood book club program of B Publishing Co., a domestic picture book publisher, were selected for analysis to analyze the status of multicultural picture books in the book club program. In addition, among the 171 books, 11 picture books with multicultural themes or characters were further analyzed. The results of this study are as follows: First of all, only 11 out of 171 picture books subject to analysis, and only 6.4 percent of them contained content on multiculturalism directly in terms of subjects and characters. Next, in the 11 picture books containing multicultural content, the story moderator was divided into cases based on the perspective of the writer or the main character child. The author was also distinguished between an insider familiar with the culture and language and an outsider unfamiliar with it. In accordance with the evaluation criteria on whether a particular culture is realistic and accurately represented, 11 picture books of content analysis were accurately described in general. However, in some picture books, detailed descriptions were not given in abundance, different cultures were not portrayed positively, and only the main character or character was found to be related to a particular culture. The significance of this study can be found in that it analyzed the status of multicultural picture books in the early childhood book club program at a time when the book club program, which receives picture books from home or uses them online, is rapidly growing.
