The objective of this experimental study is the providing some knowledge on the characteristics of the two-layer filtration by considering micro-floc and no coagulation of high turbidity.
The experiment has been conduced for constant head and declining-rate filtration.
The followings are the findings of the experiment.
① In case of micro-floc, the optimum condition of filtration depends on filtration turbidity. However, in case of high-turbidity (no coagulation) it depends on loss head.
② Judging from the effluent condition of filtration turbidity and increasing condition of loss head, the turbidity which we can use the law of micro-floc efficiently is low turbidity.
③ The effluent of anthracite filtering material by back washing is the floating effluent by the junction of water-bubble and filtering material.
④ In the experiment of back washing, the rate of optimum expansion is some 30 percent.
⑤ The reasonable velocity of the two-layer filtration is some 150m/day in a micro-floc method (80∼100ppm).
