比較文學의 諸問題 = Problems of Comparative Literature

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

In introducing the French method of comparative literature to Korea, it is of capital importance to establish the proper attitude toward the methodology. It may be said that the methodology of comparative literature itself is less important than the modification of methodology suitable to the Korean situation. We must be ware of the dogmatic methods of comparative literature.
It is, therefore, very important for us to contemplate positivism which is comprehensible in studying French literary history, and culture and pragmatism which are reflected in studying English literature, so that we may effectively establish comparative literary methods in Korea. In order to do this, we must utilize positivism of French comparative literature, and have wide perspectives in the world literature.
It is to be stressed that we should not imitate the methodology mechanically but seize the essential spirit of the methodology of comparative literature.
