The objective of this study is to derive the optimum performance of CNG fueled operation in a commercial two-cylinder engine that was adapted for the engine using PFI(Port Fuel Injection) together with sub-chamber DI(Direct Injection). In case of using dual injection type, the optimized injection quantity to improve the engine efficiency is determined by comparing and investigating each injection type, Combustion characteristics in accordance with air excess ratio and injection timing were investigated by multi-point injection using CNG fuel. On the basis of PFI type, the standard of fuel injection duration was obtained and it was applied to DI type. Air excess ratio was regulated by handel accelerator and Lambda sensor, and Spark timing and injection timing were controlled by the custom-built ECU. Furthermore, the data about in-cylinder pressure, rate of heat release, IME(Indicated Mean Effective pressure), mass fraction burned and COVimep(Coefficient Of Variation) were gotten by Lab-VIEW.
