設計過程에 있어서 槪念의 形成에 關하여 = On the Concept Formation in Design Process

If planning is the use of scientific Knowledge, then design is the creative application of that knowledge. There are two main issues to be solved in design process;(1) to construct a particular web of thought, (2) to focus creative ideas into a certain phenomenon. Design methods of glass-box process and black-box process are developed in this point of view. Rationality and creativity are two significant aspects of these methods.
Concept formation is not clearly defined bedause of uncertain mechanism of designer's insight and creative leap in design process. Concept is playing a role of lens focusing ideas of thoughts into real world and functioning a transition from 2-dismensional program to 3-dimensional entity. But this process is not just focused on one point like tree-shaped structre. However, concept can be formed with its hierarchy, notion-idea-concept-conceptual scenario/plot-scheme-schematic design. Therefore, concept is a framework like theme in music.
Concept formation should be developed as a concrete strcuture applicable to building every elements into a unified whole. To enhance rationality and to upgrade artistic sense,concept in design process should be considered in every stage of designing.
